Wang named Opening Day starter

This shouldn't come as a great surprise to anyone, but now that we're 10 days out and Chien-Ming Wang is healthy, it's official. He'll pitch the final Opening Day at the current Yankee Stadium.

"I'm very happy, very excited," Wang said Friday. "This is my first time on Opening Day. For me, it's very big."

Wang said he planned to call his mother in Taiwan to relay the news. He would have been the Yankees' Opening Day starter last year had he not strained his right hamstring on March 23 while performing conditioning exercises.
