An early hello from Turner Field
From high above Turner Field in a completely empty press box (I have some work to catch up on):
Joe Girardi got the Yankees fired up by being ejected in the sixth inning last night, with the offense waking up to pound eight runs and post a victory over the Braves. A-Rod had a big hit and even Mariano Rivera got an at-bat, lining out to center field to end the Yankees' half of the ninth inning.
This, on a day when Brian Cashman dropped in on the Yankees unexpectedly, offering a boot in the behind. As Mark Teixeira said, sometimes the principal has to come in when the teacher is having trouble with the students. We should hear today that CC Sabathia will definitively start on Friday at Citi Field. Also, Cody Ransom could start today at third base as the Yankees want to try and give A-Rod a day of rest before the Mets series.
