Business as usual for A-Rod

Well, A-Rod did insist that he wanted to follow the same routine as he did in '07.

So no one should have been surprised when a seemingly innocuous remark turned into Alex Rodriguez's first brush fire of the season. It wasn't exactly A-Rod stating that he and Derek Jeter no longer have sleepovers a few nights a week, but sitting in the same spot at Legends Field where he delivered that hyperbolic statement, A-Rod insisted he was clean from steroids and said that he was tested "nine or 10 times" by Major League Baseball last season.

Unfortunately for A-Rod, nine or 10 tests would mean that he probably raised a red flag by flunking a test for amphetamines. Whoops -- the likelihood that Rodriguez would be called upon that many times randomly is remote. People noticed, and at 7:12 p.m. ET, this statement from A-Rod landed in my e-mail box:

“My quote from earlier today was taken literally.  I was not tested nine or 10 times last year.  I was just using exaggeration to make a point. My intent was simply to shed light on the fact that the current program being implemented is working, and a reason for that is through frequent testing.

“I apologize for any confusion I may have caused.”

Welcome back, A-Rod.

This is why the media makes me sick. They take any little statement and add on kinds of things to twist the story.

In the daily news is also being reported that A-Rod is offering his 3 year old daughter to Andy Petite for Mirriage. The paper is just sick. The man was just trying to say, "If I had a dauther, I would love for her to marry a guy like Andy Petite." You know how father in laws are strict with their daughter. I can only imagine how strict Arod will be with his daughter, and for him to say something like that should mean a lot to Andy Petite on a non literal sense...

Thanks DailyNews for making that disgusting remark of Andy petite with Arod 3 year old daughter.

Dr,

That's why I gave up on watching the news. I would rather be ignorant to current events than subjugated to the liberal media. Today's media practices it's own version of "yellow journalism". Whatever it takes to sell a paper. Unfortunately, far too many people believe the hype and base their "knowledge" and, frankly, their entire system of beliefs on what they hear in the media. What's worse we live in a day when news REALLY travels fast, whether it was fabricated or not. If you are in the public eye, you might as well have your mouth sewn shut.

Bryan, no offense intended, just a statement about the liberal media as a whole. You're a gentleman and a scholar.

So he exaggerated a bit. Hey, we all do. Big deal.

The guy has not been named in the Mitchell report and has never tested positive for steroids.

On to more important things. We are underdogs this year(according to all the experts and GM's). It's been a while since we were anything other than favorites.

Something tells me this will work to our advantage. We always start poorly because everyone has their focus on us. Now, we won't excatly fly under the radar but my guess is this year we will be the team with the killer April

Rather than a team with a killer April...this year I want to be the team that sneaks into October, and have a killer October.
