how many times have the Yankees had the bases loaded and didn’t bring in a run tonight? Man it’s called situational hitting, clutch hitting with guys on base. Yankees couldn’t get risp home last year and not doing it this year. Leaving way too many guys on base. This time Roberts flies out to end the inning. It’s killing this team the number of guys left on base.

I really can’t watch this team any more. I need to step away from it and not even know how the team is playing. It’s just too damn depressing. They’re getting their asses kicked by the Jays and I’m living here in Toronto surrounded by media and fans who are just having a ball beating up on this bunch of old broken down players. it’s a travesty. This team is destined for failure again and for not making the playoffs. Their offense is non existent. The starting pitching other than Tanaka can’t keep good teams in check. And he can only pitch every 5th game. So much money paid out in salaries and so little to show for it. I haven’t been beating up on Cashman but I really think the bad decisions he made in this off season warrants his being sent packing by the Steinbrenner brothers. We’ve got to get a new GM who can rebuild this organization from top to bottom. We are becoming a laughing stock. A friggin joke.

Like

I completely agree, Crashman has been a horrendous GM for a long time. He singlehandedly has turned this organization into the laughingstock you mentioned. He definitely needs to go, GM’s like Sabean and Beane have done far more with less than what he has had to work with and just make him look incompetent. He SUCKS compared to those guys, he simply can’t carry their jock straps. They have taken their teams into the upper echelons of the league over the past few years while Crashman has taken the Yanks in the opposite direction.

The Steinbrenners are part of this disaster considering they decided to re-sign him and bring him back a couple of years ago. Huge mistake on their part, therefore, they are as much to blame for this embarrassment as Crashman. I don’t see Crashman coming back when his contract runs out, nor should he be brought back either. Dana Oppenheimer should be fired as well, the minor league system has been pathetic.

the Yankees only have so many interchangeable parts and pieces. Solarte, Jeter, Soriano one night and Johnson, Ryan ——– and Suzuki another nite and you just keep changing them in and out every game with basically the same order. Definition of insanity is doing the same things time after time and expecting different results. And is there hope for anything better? Probably not unless you’re going to give away your best prospects. So we and we die with this present crew, such as they are

8-0, 8-3 two nights in a row. Not looking very good for this team. Now the starting pitching which hasn’t been bad except for Nuno is beginning to implode. Still no offense out of this team. Again, we’re getting what I think we expected in spring training. We got off to a better run than most of us expected but now the flaws and the holes have shown up and a few injuries and we’re in serious trouble. We’ll be around 500 is my projection for the season which means missing the playoffs and the team has spent a pile of money on old broken down players who have a reputation but who can’t perform consistently any more. It’s going to be another depressing year. And the Yankees have to face Behrule today who will be a lot better in his own park than he was at Yankee stadium. And we counter with David Phelps was has been hot and cold. No Tanaka this series but the Yankees didn’t give him any run support in his last outing.

Like

do we have to put up with Johnson at third again? Jeez when are we going to get rid of him or send him down? He’s a total liability. He’s not great on defense and he’s is totally useless at the plate especially in clutch situations. Doesn’t look like a very strong lineup. No Solarte. No Jeter. They need to keep Solarte on the field. Hes not a player you can keeping yanking in and out of the lineup and expect him to produce. Ryan is good on defense but doesn’t do much at the plate. I don’t see this lineup winning against the Jays tonite. Soriano is in a real slump and not contributing certainly not in the DH spot. It will be his last year obviously. The Yankees should be happy Lawrie and Bautista are out of the lineup. That’s a big hole for the Jays’ offense. But guys like Gose and Pillar have come up before and done well. Can only hope Whitley can keep fooling the opposition. He’s a strike thrower.

@Rob,
Billings is in triple A. He may deserve a chance over Nuno. Nuno might need to go back down and work on his stuff.
I think we’ll pull off atleast 2 trades. They are still depending on Sabastian, Tex and Beltramo because they make the big bucks. Sabastian is completely done and Tex is done as anything other than DH/Pinch hitter, reminds me of Giambi.

Like

You’re completely delusional Mr. Mediocrity. No way are they going to bring up a struggling pitcher like Billings. You make no sense whatsoever. Sabahia, Tex, and Beltran are injury prone players this team won’t be able to move just like your girlfriends HEAD-Lee. Deal with it!!!!!

Like

Asia Bradley, you don’t have to move them for them to be done. Use your brain ma.

Nando atleast routes for a winner in the Giants. He is the only winner in your household but still go Yankees.

Don’t worry, though, Pineda will be good…..for another team. MAybe.

The only think this team will sell is seats.

There’s still a possibility that this team could be sellers rather than buyers down the road, if it is out of the race. If not then I feel this team will emphasize hitting more than pitching.

Like

There is no chance of that none zero nill zilch. Kinda like your A’s reaching the WS.

Like

Only brainless fool ( like yourself) wouldn’t make the offense a priority for this team if this team is going to make the playoffs. This team has less of a chance to make th playoffs than the A’s making the WS. Only a person with any intelligence can see that, that would leave you out Mr. Mediocrity. Once again Beane kicks Crashman’s a$$!!!!

Like

No chance this team is a seller. Of course this team needs offense, you can tell everybody, Honda sucks we need BMWs

Tanaka gives up 3 and Warren comes in and gets knocked around for 4 more. Pitching stinks today and offense non existent again! Can’t even win a series against the O’s in the Yankees’ own ball park. What do you think they’re going to do in the Jays and O’s ball parks? This team reall pi–es me off. Do damn inconsistent. 300 million bucks in pay roll and what to show for it? A very mediocre team. A bunch of old injury prone has beens. Why are we expecting more? Beats me. It’s going to be a long mediocre season so get used to it.

Like

tanaka gave up more than usual today. Not his usual dominant self but again how do you expect any pitcher no matter how good to win with no run support. The Yankees are just a lousy team offensively and will finish the season around 500 outside of the playoffs. That’s my prediction anyway. Hope it’s otherwise but don’t bet on it.

Like

lousy yankee offense again. Even 1 run could end up being a loss for Tanaka the way the Yankees hit. Last year and this year they make every pitcher look like a Cy Young candidate. Tillman is a good pitcher and been around a long time and at the end of his career but the Yankees can’t hit him, like they can’t hit most pitchers. In the end it won’t be the pitching that kill the Yankees this year but their hitting.

Like

Girardi says he’s going to keep Nuno in regular rotation. Well, you can be sure then of a loss every 5 games. He doesn’t want to move Warren out of the pen and obviously we don’t have anyone in the minors ready to come up and start. And we can’t seem to pull off a trade for an experienced starter. Waiting for CC and Pineda could mean late July or August and then you don’t know what you’ve got. Last year it was Hughes who was a sure loser every 5th game. Now it’s Nuno. But our offense is so streaky. 1 run is not going to win many games especially with someone like Nuno pitching. Our offense has to become more consistent. We’ve said from the beginning that this team is a 500 team and I think that’s how will end up.

Like

Oakland has not won anything in 30 years, Devil Rays have never won. Yankees won in 2009 just 5 years ago. Beane has only won on paper. Cash has won in reality. I am no fan of Cash, I think he gets overridden all the time by the owners. I wish him well in Seattle but Beane is not in Cash’s league.

Like

Again, LMFAO@bpuke/jerseyjoe!!!! Your boyfriend should win at least 1 WS title with all the Yankee resources, but to only win 1 since becoming Yankee GM is DISMAL!! No excuse whatsoever for all his ridiculous screw ups, those are all his undoing.

This team would be in a much better position in terms of talent if Beane were GM. The A’s organization is in much better shape than the Yankees.

Yeah, Beane isn’t in Crashman’s league, otherwise he’d be garbage like Crashman.

Like

How many WS does your Beane boy have?

Like

The only thing working against Beane is the A’s inability/unwillingness to spend money on the talent they have and keep, if they had Yankee resources, they might be a dynasty in the making.

So what’s your boyfriend’s excuse again?

Not really. It goes to what I’ve been saying all along, that Lee is too expensive a risk for the Yankees to take. Lee is the biggest question mark on the market for any team. Even though I have doubts about Samardjia, I would go after him ( I doubt the Yanks will get him) or Shields if KC flames out. This team has loaded itself down with huge contracts on older players who are injury prone and past their prime, it doesn’t need to add Lee to that list.

Like

If you read the article, Lee is cheaper because of the injury and his contract doesn’t mean anything to NY. KC is in first place you joker. Kei Honda is doing it lol.

Like

Who says KC will be in 1st place down the road Latina? It goes beyond Lee’s cost as well “genius”. Mr Mediocrity, you are a BUFFOON!!!!!

I’m really getting to hate Kelly Johnson in the lineup. He is useless at the plate and not great on defense either, but it’s either a strike out or a ground out. How long are we going to wait to get a bona fide 3rd baseman who can catch and who can hit? If we’re going to carry Kelly there for the rest of the year we are in trouble. If they keep pulling Solarte out of the lineup he’s going to lose confidence all together. The more games he plays the more probably he’ll contribute like he was in the first 25 games. Having him play every 2nd game is not going to get him going again.

Like

Kelu is a worthless minor league part time player.
Beltran homer with 2 outs in the 9th was FORTUNATE. We lost out on Morales because of Beltran/Texiera uncertain status. I hope that doesn’t prevent Cash from going to get Headley and co at the deadline. Soriano and only Soriano should be the DH on this team.

Like

well not much has changed with Nuno except he didn’t give up 8 runs in the first inning. But 2 home runs. He’s another Hughes in yankee stadium. Maybe he’d do better in a bigger park. He’s not really a starter and the sooner the Yankees can get a replacement the better. They’ll either have to try Warren there or trade for a quality starter. Mind you, the Yankees’ offense has dried up again which doesn’t help. A guy like Nuno needs at least 4 or 5 run support in a game to get through 5 innings and give the team a chance of winning. If only the Yankees could put together a string of 8 wins instead of 1 or 2 or 3 and then 1 or 2 or 3 losses. They’re going to face the Jays next in the Jays’ park and that will be a different story than playing them in Yankee stadium.

Like

yankmeister1–never did like the Jays did you. One trick pony. Well that was the Yankees last year and for a few years. But not sure if they’re even a one trick pony this year. If they are, what pony is it? Jays come back from 8-0 to the Reds and win14-9. I’m a yankee fan and have been since 1957 and pulling against the Jays even though I live in Toronto but they have an explosive team and an exciting team to watch and some good young players. Yankees are sticking close so far but they’re not explosive any more, not exciting to watch and mostly old players which doesn’t bode well for this year nor the next few years unless they can get their minor league system straightened out.

Like

Yanks’ pony broke down a few years ago, it’s been put out to pasture. The Jays still rely too much on the HR for wins. Yeah hitting a ton of HR’s is great, but as the Jays have been proving for the last few years, hitting home runs doesn’t equate to success, they have finished near the bottom of the division. Their own pitching will be their own undoing.

Like

what amazes me about this team is that they can sweep the Jays but can only score 1 run against the O’s in the first game of the series against a pitcher with a losing record and who has obviously not pitched very well. our offense is so streaky. We get it going for a few games and then it suddenly dries up and we can hardly hit a ball out of the infield. It’s going to be this way all season I believe if we stay with the same team we have now. We’re going to be hanging around the 500 mark all year which won’t be good enough to even get a wild card.

Like

Doesn’t amaze me at all about sweeping the Jays. Yanks have been absolutely dominant at home against the Jays having won the last 16 or 17 straight games in New York. Like I said before the Yankees have had the Jays number and the Jays are nothing but an overrated team led who are a one trick pone on offense. Won’t be surprised if we see the Jays come back to earth and fade into mediocrity. Once again. It was a no sweat series.

The Orioles will be a much more difficult task to beat.

Kuroda imploding in the 6th. Pitched a great 5 innings. Girardi left him in an inning too long. He was over 90 pitches. Should have taken him out and gone to the pen. Girardi often waits too long. Except you can’t win many games with 1 run and the Yankees never give Kuroda run support and the poor guy can’t get any wins. Why can they not get any runs for Kuroda? With three starters out the offense needs to support Kuroda or they aren’t going to win many games. They don’t need many runs for Tanaka but they need at least 3 or 4 for Kuroda. They need to win this series.

Like

Garcia looks like a good prospect at short stop or 3rd base. Maybe he’ll be the heir apparent to Derek Jeter. Hope the Yankees continue the roll against the O’s. Great if they could sweep again but they don’t seem to play the O’s as well as they play the Jays. And we have Nuno pitching on Saturday and that’s always interesting wondering which Nuno will show up.
