Spring Game 1: Yankees vs. Florida State University

The Yankees open their spring exhibition slate this afternoon at 1:05 p.m., when they’ll take on the Florida State University squad here at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston will be with the Seminoles and could see action in today’s game. FSU head football coach Jimbo Fisher is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. There is no TV or radio coverage of today’s game.

Yes Robert I agree. We are hoping than Sizemore can play third and Roberts 2B with Jeter and Tex coming off major injuries. That will still only leave Ryan, Johnson and Nunez.


Every year we start out with a no-name team. I’m still concerned about our infield. With older players much more chance of injury and Jeter hasn’t proven himself on the field in game situation since his major ankle surgery. On paper the Yankees look like a better team this year but that needs to translate into consistent results on the field through the whole season. Anyway, should make for an interesting year. I’m sure there’ll be lots to talk about as the season progresses
