Jeter: “It’s frustrating. I don’t know what else you want me to say.”

The Yankees just sent out this one-paragraph statement from Derek Jeter, who did not meet with the media this afternoon here at Yankee Stadium:

JULY 12, 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STATEMENT FROM  DEREK JETER

“It’s frustrating. I don’t know what else you want me to say. I worked hard to get to the point of rejoining the team yesterday.  It’s not how you draw it up, but hopefully I’ll be back out there soon and help this team win some games.”

When you give up 5 hits, three of which are HRs I don’t care how many folks you strikeout Mr. Hughes you are going to lose. He’s 4-9 for the season folks. They need to trade him for another bat ASAP.

Here’s hopeing that DJ gets back ASAP. This team definitely NEEDS him. BTW from the case you haven’t noticed department, Raul Ibanez is having a pretty good year with Seattle. Has 24 HRs, batting .265 with 55 ribbies. Think Cashman made a mistake not resigning this guy. He might be 40 but Ibanez can still play the game, just like Mo.

I can understand how frustrating that it must be. I was counting on him,so it’s frustrating for the fans too. Thankfully it’s not a serious injury.and i don’t even know why the DL was mentioned. Resting it from now until after the break with maybe an extra day or two should be sufficient.

No one thought he’d play before the break anyhow, and a grade 1 strain is not that big of deal. Heck, he could pinch hit if he is needed. I mean if it was the playoffs, he’d get it taped and play. All this precaution hasn’t seemed to help the injury situation—–so if he says he can play, he should play. I doubt there is anyway they can keep him out of lineup after the all-star break.
