Seeknay, I’m with you. ARod’s given the yankees a few good years. Never should have signed him or anyone to a 10 year contract at his age. You knew at best he would be DHing the final few years of his contract. He has come there sooner than expected because of his injuries. But he is looking woeful at the plate, lost, old, can’t catch up, swinging at anything and everything. They’re intentionally walking guys ahead of him knowing they are going to pitch to ARod. How embarrassing is that! And that cocky, smug look on his face, chewing gum and blowing bubbles after striking out is just too much. Maybe noone can fix him, not even his mentor Kevin Long. Time to put him at DH at best or ride the bench and play Chavez at 3rd. Chavex is good defensively still and will produce more at the plate consistently than ARod. But is management going to make such a drastic move and run the risk of hurting a player’s feelings who is making 20 mil a year? Probably not. Tex does a great job defensively but his production is way down and almost another sure out at the plate. Last game was terrible with RISP again. Bases loaded, 1 out and Nunez pops out to the infield and Jeter grounds out to 3rd. Not 1 run scored and it happened too often. Same old game the Yankees have played too often all year. Will they bounce back at home? I hope so or they’re out. Never though I’d see Nunez hitting DH throughout the playoffs. Jones has been awful but in the crunch with his experience, hitting against lefties he’s capable of putting it out of the park. But Jones is not on the roster. Could DH Chavez some games instead of Nunez. But Nunez has speed on the bases. Anyway, can’t win many games with only scoring 2 runs. Why isn’t Gardner not in more games, both defensively and offensively. Can’t he hit any more. Pitching not the problem for the yankees. It’s their hitting, clutch hitting, that has been the problem most of the year in spite of hitting most home runs in the majors.

Totally agree with you mickeyyogi. However, you have much more faith in Aroid then I do. IF he is to stay in the starting lineup, he bats 6th or 7th. Right now I’d prefer Chavez at third. Been saying this since end of last season. Time for the Yankees to admit the Aroid mistake, send him packing with a ton of them paying his salary and move on. Both him, the club and its fans will be better off.

Playoff baseball swings on very small margins. Andino’s catch against AROD in the first and then double play loom huge in the context of the whole game. Andy P. looking so great into third gives up broken bat, 2 out hit, but then has to go to stretch for first time in game and is out of sync for just a few fleeting pitches and lead is lost. 9 hits, but only two runs projects inability to get clutch hit that this team has on and off suffered from all year. I hope AROD ends up producing because Joe G. is going with him in the three hole longer than I believe is justified. Incredibly tense and compelling game, but the Yanks come out on short end.
