If Andy P. is the best pitcher on Yankees in limiting big innings, then with two outs in sixth, why not let him finish inning. I suppose Joe G. had a predetermined number of pitches in his mind, but letting an 8 hole hitter beat us when we could have finished the inning with Andy makes no sense. If Joe G. wants to make a bold move, put AROD in the 7 hole until he shows he is capable of being a 3/4 hitter. He is a good defender and a decent hitter at this point in his career——just no longer a 3/4 guy.

Totally agree robert G. The inning I cited above was the turning point in the game. I mean put the *AMN ball in play, give yourself up for a *AMN run. Sorry but that’s MANAGING, plain and simple. Girardi does NOT get after these guys at all. And his love affair with Joba is unreal. Giving away the DH in the 7th is INEXCUSEABLE!!!

joba gives up the 3rd run of the game. Three times bases loaded and not one run. That’s the way it’s been all year. And none of the coaches can seem to fix it. If the Yankees make it to the playoffs(and there certainly is no guarantee the way they’re playing) then that flaw in itself will kill them and early. Don’t see this team as it is put together and given its results going all the way. This was one of the poorest games Yankee team has played this year. Not stellar from Andy but you’ve got to score more than 2 runs to win consistently. And the middle of the yankee order is not producing. ARod, Grandy, even Cano not getting it done with men on base. No clutch hits with men in scoring position. Too many strike outs. Girardi gives away the DH positon in the lineup in the 7th inning. Why wasn’t Jeter at SS to start with? What’s Jones doing in the lineup? Nunez is not ready. If o’S win tonight and they probably will then we’re back into a tie again. If we can’t win with Andy how can we expect to win with someone else starting. Management really needs to overhaul this team in the off season.

WAY to many guys left on base, way to much inability to score with people in scoring position. This team is incapable of playing small ball at all. Lose two out of three to the Jays now. Do NOT deserve to win the division at all. Frankly, I join the chorus that it may be time to change the management with this team. Getting tired of Girardi’s excuses and BAD decisions at key times in a game. He once knew how to manage, somehow he’s lost it.

Swear this team has set a major league record for having the bases loaded with no one out and not scoring. Grandy pops out, Jones K’s (not surprising can’t figure out what he’s even in the lineup) and Nunez lines out. Then with guys on first and second with no one out, their great (?) manager doesn’t use the sacrifice. Tell you Granderson is feast or fathom, no in between. Way too many outs by him in key situations this year.
