CC on Yankees: “This is where I want to retire”
If you’re looking to set your DVR for the weekend, CC Sabathia will be featured in the final episode of MLB Productions’ four-part series “My MLB Life” on MLB Network tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET. You can also catch the episode on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET and Monday at 1 p.m. ET. The first three episodes of “My MLB Life” focused on Matt Kemp, Torii Hunter and Ryan Zimmerman.
The camera crew filmed the episode with Sabathia in New York City last November, in his hometown of Vallejo, Calif. last December and in New Jersey in late January. The documentary covers Sabathia’s childhood in Vallejo, his achievements so far in his playing career, his family life and his charitable endeavors with the PitCCh In foundation.
Sabathia also discusses how much he enjoys playing for the Yankees, saying, “This is where I want to retire. How much the city cares about the team and how much support you have here, to be a part of that has been a lot of fun.”
The episode includes footage from CC and Amber Sabathia’s wedding, from their Christmas party at the MLB Fan Cave last year for the Boys & Girls Club, and of their home, which features a movie theater, full-size basketball court, and CC’s personal gym.
