Information from the Yankees’ media relations department:

SUZUKI SCOOTER: OF Ichiro Suzuki stole his 20th base of the season in last night’s loss, reaching the plateau for the 12th straight season to begin his Major League career… joins Rickey Henderson (who stole at least 20 bases in each of his first 23 seasons) and Ozzie Smith (who stole at least 20 bases in each of his first 16 seasons) as the only players to accomplish the feat.

ROOKED: The Yankees are 10-12 vs. rookie starting pitchers this season (credit: Elias Sports Bureau)…have won five of their last seven matchups against rookie starters after losing their previous six such contests.
ð Are 2-1 thus far against tonight’s Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen…have not had a rookie left-handed starter earn multiple wins against the Yankees in the same season since Baltimore’s Adam Loewen went 2-1 in 2006.

10’S A CROWD: The Yankees allowed 10R in last night’s loss, just the seventh time this season they have surrendered double digits in runs this season… among AL clubs, only three teams (Tampa Bay and Oakland – four each; and Seattle- three times) have done so fewer times.
