Hey Seeknay. Sqeeked out win today. Glad of that. We got one run on an error by JJ Hardy but the way we’re hitting lately we need every break we can get. Offense still far below par but for a B team they finally got it done. How many games we can win down the stretch with the present squad and how they are performing is the question. Now Grandy is out. Getting an MRI. Hopefully it’s day to day. Not sure when Tex is back.ARod might be back on Monday to start series with the Rays. I wish Pettitte would get back soon. We desperately need him in the rotation and put Phelps and Garcia back into the pen where they should be. Can Hughes match Tillman tomorrow? We can only wait and see which Hughes shows up. Again another band aid, patchwork offense until some of the regulars get back. I’m off to Pennsylvania for a week. Should be able to see some Yankee games but not bringing my computer with me. By the time I get back we’ll know which direction we’re heading in down the stretch. Time for the O’s to go on a bit of a losing streak to take the pressure off until we can get healed and back together.

Once again robert G regardless of the outcome of this season, Crashman BETTER get some younger players. I’m all one for experience BUT this team is far too OLD and far too ONE dimensional. And God forbid IF Girardi would EVER consider hit and run, sacrificing etc.

Can things get any worse for the Yankees? Now Grandy down with sore hamstring. How long out? You can’t beat the O’s and the Athletics and the Rangers with your B team. What a way to try to get into the playoffs? Limping down the stretch.

A lousy start again. Not one hit for the Yankees yet. Grandy out of the game. not sure why. Look at our lineup? It’s our B or C team on the field. We are in serious DoDo down the stretch. Management needs to call a meeting here and light a fire under these guys. Every game someone else goes down. Seems to happen when you’re losing.

This team’s makeup is WAY to one dimensional. They CANNOT manufacture runs at all. It’s either HR’s or nothing. Regardless of what happens this year, they NEED to get younger. Whether they do it through trades, free agency or through the farm system this squad is why too OLD and way too slow. And for God Sakes get rid of Lowe and Joba, they are DONE!!!!!!

Hey seeknya. 4 strike outs in one game and a crucial one at that? Swish either homers or strikes out. Grandy got a HR but strikes out too much too. They made the young pitcher look like a Cy Young candidate. They’ve done that with young pitchers who are at best average, too much this year. The O’s are hot and on a roll and the yankees are cold and going nowhere right now. All aspects of their game are lacking. Joe keeps mixing up the lineup which doesn’t help. By the time Tex and ARod and Pettitte get back they could be fighting for the 2nd wild card or out of it altogether. No speed on the bases with Gardner out. They have noone else with speed. No gardner, no nunez, no young guys who can run. Too many old guys who are tired at this point in the year and banged up or washed up. Got to start a rebuilding program next year with some younger guys in the lineup who can hustle and who have energy and bodies that don’t break down. This is a tired old group that’s going through the motions right now. I’m not sure they can regenerate themselves quickly enough. Phelps against Chen? A bit of a mismatch. If the yankees can win this one against Chen given their offensive lineup it will be a miracle. I’m inclined not even to tune in because I won’t be able to handle what I’m seeing and hearing. Too stressful.

This team is in DEEP Crap. At this point they will be lucky to make the playoffs. Perhaps if they don’t it will get management off their collective ARSES and get some young talent. Way to many injuries this year to way to many older players. And will someone tell Swisher to put the *amn ball in play today.

good to read the comments of some new bloggers here eh Seeknay? It’s been you and me only over the past weeks. WE’ve even lost Robert G. He’s gone off to twitter or facebook somewhere. Anyway, RISP has been a real problem for the yankees for whatever reason. They can’t get the clutch hits when they need them. Is this a mental thing? Do they try to hard when runners are on base? Are they always trying to get the big hit and knock it out of the park instead of playing some small ball? You would think Yankee management would have been able to figure it out by now and correct it since it’s been a long standing problem and issue. Anyway, crucial series coming up. Yankees could be in 1st or in 2nd or 3rd by the time this series is over. And 5 weeks ago they were 10 games ahead of the O’s.

For the last year this team hitting with runners in scoring position has been the worst. The Jays showed the Yankees how to get runners in when it counts, this isn’t happening back to last year. This year starting with the first three games in Tampa the Yankees manager has been out managed

the pitchers as well as batters need to get more practice on time off if you want to be #1 as you should be. get going Yankees!!

management as some serious decisions to make about this team when the year is over. CC is no longer or Ace. Huroda is. And the team doesn’t put up any run support for him. This team is old and stale. Need some young hungry players who are excited to play with the yankees and generate some energyand elecriticity. We were playing over our heads a couple of months ago. The whole team needs to take a long look at itself, including guys like Cano and Swisher and Teixiera and certainly ARod who has done little for us this year. High payroll but not high production. No longer the come back kids in late innings of the 90s. This team is really in tatters right now.

Yes the pitching gave up 13 hits, but 4 of the runs were unearned. Recently, too many errors and too many strike outs. However, in two of the losses Monday and Wednesday, the bullpen gave up too many runs late. Bad luck, injuries, non-clutch performances———–all adds up to a bad stretch for the Yankees. I’ve got to believe this team has good baseball right around the corner——waiting for it has darn frustrating though!!!

game is over. Series is over. I’m not sure the Yankees year is not over. Soon they’re going to be fighting to get a wild card spot. Pitching bad. Offense not up to par. Even defence today weak. Sure we’ve got injuries but look at the Jays? This is totally embarrassing to lost series to this team. I think we’re in serious trouble. And Joba yes, but Jones in the lineup? In the field? Slow to read the ball. He’s slow period any more. Joba and Jones combine to do what they’ve done all year. Team sinks right now.

HOW MANY DAMN TIMES GIRARDI? HOW MANY DAMN TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO SEND JOBA OUT THERE TO GET HIT. FIGURE IT OUT: THIS GUY IS DONE, DONE. DONE. STOP SENDING HIM OUT THERE. ARE YOU TRYING TO LOSE THIS THING????

I tend to agree with you Sam. But getting Andy and Nova back will help. That will push Garcia and Phelps back to the pen and eliminate the need to use Joba or Lowe. Three errors in one game is NOT the signature of a WS winner.

Yankees pitching is garbage …. this will keep them from winning pennant and getting into WS.
