MILEY’S THE MAN: Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Manager Dave Miley has been named the International League’s 2012 Manager of the Year… it marks the second time winning the honor for Miley (also 2007).

LATE NIGHT LOSS: According to the Elias, Monday’s loss vs. Toronto was the Yankees’ first home loss in a game they led by two or more runs with two outs in the ninth inning since 8/18/00 vs. the Angels (led 8-3 after the eighth and allowed 5R in the ninth – including a game-tying 3R HR by Mo Vaughn off Mariano Rivera, and the Yankees lost 9-8 in 11).
ð The defeat was also their third this season when hitting at least 4HR in a game… had lost four such games total over the last six seasons combined.

SPECIAL GUESTS: Uganda’s 2012 Little League World Series Team, the first-ever team from Africa to participate in the LLWS, will be the Yankees’ guest tomorrow… as part of their visit, the Ugandan team will be on-field for Yankees batting practice and participate in roll call in Section 203 at the start of the game.

1977 GETS OLDER: Happy birthday today to three members of the 1977 World Series champs: Ron Guidry (1950), Lou Piniella (1943) and Mike Torrez (1946).
