blew a chance to win tonight and put some more space between the Yankees and the Rays and O’s, but Soriano blew it. When he gave up the hits Joe should have pulled him because it was obvious that the Jays hitters were getting to him but Joe leaves him in and bingo, Home Run and ultimately a loss in extra innings. Of course Derek Lowe threw the ball away which led to the winning run. Not a stellar performance other than from Phelps and Cano and Swisher except Swisher struck out twice as well. I’m with you Seeknay I never feel as confident with Soriano as I did with Mo. Rays lose but the Oriole’s win so getting tight. Need to win the next 2 but who do we have starting? Tex gets injured running the bases. Obviously he hasn’t been running the bases much this year. Tough and disappointing loss.

Missed an opportunity tonight to add another game between the Yankees and the Rays. Rays lost to Rangers which is a Catch 22 for the Yankees. This one is on Soriano’s 9th inning stint. Need to recover tomorrow.

I”ve posted it many times on this and other blogs. Soriano is NOT as trusted a closer as Mo and he proved it once again tonight. He has always been hittable and gives away way toooooo many walks for my taste. Again I miss MO.

IF this team wins #28 this year one of the unsung heroes of this team is David Phelps. This guy has pitched well in any role this year and deserves a lot of credit from Yankee fans.
