This information from the Yankees’ media relations department:

GIVE IT A 10: The Yankees have scored at least 10R in a game five times all season, three of which have come against the Red Sox (4/21 and 7/6 at Fenway, and Friday).
 FIVE ALIVE: The Yankees have scored at least five runs in each their eight gms vs. Boston in 2012, matching their second-longest such single-season streak against the Red Sox (also 5/25-6/27/1926)… their only longer such streak was 15 straight from 4/16-7/3/32.

IN CLOSING: The Yankees are 21-11 in series finales… have won seven of the last nine finales and 10 of the last 13… are 7-4 in the rubber game of a three-game series this season.

TEIX DRIVE: In his last 21 gms since 7/2, 1B Mark Teixeira is batting .338 (25-for-74) with 16R, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 7HR and 27RBI… his 27RBI in July are the most in the Majors this month, and his second most in a month as a Yankee (34RBI in May 2009).
 Has collected18RBI in eight games vs. Boston this season… since 1960, only one Yankee (Roger Maris, 19RBI in 1961) has driven in more runs in a single season vs. Boston… the last Yankee to record at least 20RBI in a season vs Boston was Mickey Mantle in 1958 (22RBI).
 Has reached the 20-homer plateau for the 10th time in his career, becoming the seventh switch-hitter all-time to accomplish the feat… is the only switch-hitter to do so in his first 10 Major league seasons.

Not a good way to lose. They came back but Robertson blew it. he’s not Robertson isn’t the dominant pitcher he was before his injury and time off. He was too pumped up coming in and overthrew to the first batter putting him on base. Man, Jones is certainly a liability in the field. He misjudged the double and hesitated too long to try to get to another ball. Two bad miscues. He hasn’t got therange or the leg any more. And he didn’t do much at the plate either but neither do a lot of others. Yankees don’t hit left hand pitching well. Too bad after such a good game by Kuroda. With Suzuki on 3rd base and 1 out they couldn’t get him home. That was critical I think but it’s been the problem all year. Hate to lose the series to the Sox. They are more desperate than we are but we can’t afford to lose too many or the teams behind will start quickly bridging the gap. Tough series now against the O’s

The inconsistent pitching of David Robertson has to concern Girardi. This guy needs to stop walking leadoff hitters.

Where is the O tonight?????
