WEATHER: There was some drizzle earlier in the afternoon but it’s looking like a nice night. Partly cloudy and temperatures in the high seventies.

UMPIRES: HP Tim Tschida, Mike Muchlinski 1B, Bill Welke 2B, Chris Guccione 3B.

Information from the Yankees’ media relations department:

GO, GO CANO: 2B Robinson Cano has hit 8HR in his last 19 games… hit 3HR total over his first 38 games of the year… his multi-homer game in Friday’s win–with both HR coming off LHP Johan Santana–marked the third time he hit two homers off a lefty pitcher in the same game (also 4/15/10 vs. Los Angeles-AL, Scott Kazmir and 4/29/10 at Baltimore, Brian Matusz and Alberto Castillo)… had hit just 1HR off a LHP in 2012 entering last night’s game.
Ø His 155 career HR are the second-most homers by a Yankees second baseman trailing only Tony Lazzeri (169HR) who owns the most HR among those Yankees whose primary position was second base.
Ø Has now hit at least 10HR in each of his first eight Major League seasons, joining former Yankee Joe Gordon (11 seasons) as the only second basemen to accomplish the feat.

POST NO-NO: With their win last night vs. Johan Santana, the Yankees are now 2-0 in games against starting pitchers who had thrown a no-hitter in their previous outing over the last 20 years (also Matt Garza on 7/31/10 at Tropicana Field, a 5-4 Yankees win in which Garza did not receive a decision) – credit: Elias.

HEY JUNE: The Yankees are 5-2 thus far in June, combining to outscore opponents 40-18, outhit them .250 (58-for-232) to .205 (45-for-220) and out-homer them 12-to-4… opposing starters have a combined 6.21 ERA (37.2IP, 26ER) against the Yankees in June.
