GRAND ENTRANCE: The Yankees are tied with Colorado and Tampa Bay for the most grand slams by a team with this season with four…have 10H with the bases loaded in 2012, with three of the last four being grand slams…are batting .167 (10-for-60) with the bases loaded this season, tied for the 26th-lowest such average in the Majors…have 4H in their last 51PA, going 4-for-41 with three grand slams, 6BB, 1HP and 3SF…hit an AL-high .337 (55-for-163) with the bags full last season and a Major League-high .344 (64-for-186) in 2010.

FOUR DOWN: The Yankees have held their opponent to 4H in each of their last two games (Sunday at Detroit, Tuesday vs. Tampa Bay), marking the first time they have surrendered 4H or fewer in consecutive games since 5/5-6/11.

NINE LIVES: C Russell Martin went 3-for-4 with a grand slam in Tuesday’s win…according to the Elias Sports Bureau, became the first ninth-place batter to record at least 3H and a grand slam for the Yankees since pitcher Spud Chandler on 7/2/1940 at Comiskey Park.
Ø Hit the grand slam on an 0-2 pitch, marking the first such GS by a Yankee since John Flaherty on 6/10/04 vs. Colorado (off Scott Dohmann).

RUN ON: The Yankees have scored at least five runs in eight of their last 11 games since 5/23, including at least 7R in five of those contests…have scored at least five runs off of opposing starters in four of their last five games and six of their last 10 games since 5/25.
