The Yankees chose to go with age and experience for their position players and DH rather than bringing any of the young prospects up who are hungry and enthusiastic and trying to make the big club. We gave away a blue chip prospect in Montero for a pitcher that won’t help us all year and who knows how he’ll come back next year? We brought on Stewart as backup instead of using Cervelli or Romine and Martin is totally useless at the plate this year. A few of the fat cats who are being paid big salaries for long term aren’t producing. We didn’t get one or two starters we should have got and hoped what we had would get the job done for us. It just isn’t an exciting team that are showing a desire to win. We have too many guys paid too well and are in the twilight of their careers.
