Game 36: Yankees at Orioles

May 15, 2012, 7:05 p.m. ET, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore, Md.
TV / Radio: YES/MLB Network, WCBS 880 AM

It’s shaping to be  a nice evening in Baltimore as the Yankees go for the sweep of this two-game series with the Orioles. CC Sabathia gets the nod, looking for his sixth straight winning start. He has pitched into the eighth inning in his last five starts and completed eight frames in each of his last four outings. Once again, Sabathia is working with “not personal catcher” Chris Stewart.

The Yankees get a second look at Wei-Yin Chen, who made his Major League debut against New York on April 10 and allowed four runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 innings, taking a no-decision in a 5-4 Yankees win. Chen served up a homer to Derek Jeter, his first big league batter faced, and is coming off a career-high 7 2/3 inning start against the Rangers at Oriole Park.

Here are tonight’s lineups:

Let’s face it. This team stinks all round. Not a playoff team. Can’t even challenge the Jays let alone win a game. Yankees need to fire Long. They’re soon going to be at the bottom of the division looking up at everyone else. Someone or something needs to light a fire under this team. They’re stale and lazy. They can’t blame their poor playing on the injuries. It’s not the pitching generally that has been hurting them but lousy offence especially with risp. Yankee fans are not happy campers!! Cashman needs to do something to shake this team up. Their payroll is twice that of the Jays and the Rays.

the layout and functionality of mlblogs has gotten just as stale as the yankees bats.

This site is about as exciting and active as the Yankee team right now. Nobody has enough interest to comment. When the Yankees were playing poorly or lost a game last season there were bloggers all over them on this website. I can only conclude they’ve gone to another blog site or they’ve given up on the Yankees already.

Not a fun time to be a yankees fan. This year’s edition doesn’t really look like they have what it takes either pitching or offence to go all the way. They’re going to be chasing the Rays and the Orioles all year and battling to stay with the Jays and the Sox. Not an exciting explosive ball club like the Yankees had in the late 90s early 2000s. You never feel when they get down 5 runs that they can come back. I really don’t feel like watching the rest of this game because you get a feeling early that the Yankees are just going through the motions.

Injuries are mounting adding to the Yankees woes. They haven’t been a great team yet this year and when they just seem to be getting their team together and getting a few wins key players are falling. Can they still overcome the adversity and win? Do they have the courage to fight through? Will wait and see. Other people really need to step up and pick up the slack. Now Mo down and the guy who was supposed to replace him is on the DL. This doesn’t look good. If CC can’t win a game then the yankees are in trouble.

This has to be one of the most boring yankee teams to watch. I know it’s been slowing down since 2009 without the matsui, damon, posada and good arod and tex.. but man, it just seem this is a very boring team more often than not. BORING !
