Pineda suffers setback; to see doctor Monday

The Yankees received discouraging news from Tampa, as right-hander Michael Pineda felt discomfort behind his right shoulder and had to cut his Extended Spring Training outing short after just 15 pitches.

Pineda will see a physician on Monday in Tampa, and Yankees manager Joe Girardi said there is no timetable for Pineda’s return.

“I can’t tell you when we’re going to get him now,” Girardi said.

Chamberlain and Hughes are ancient history? They are still part of the organization, until this team cuts them lose they can’t be considered ancient history like Brackman and Kennedy. However, all four all part o f a current trend of injury prone players, and for right now Pineda has joined that trend.

Brackman, Chamberlain, Hughes, and Kennedy are ancient history. I’m not counting on Betances but Warren has won his second and third starts allowing 3 earned runs in 12.2 innings. They’ll take no chances on Pineda, but at this point, his future still looks bright.

Pineda passed his physical, so we knew there were no structural issues. And what about Nova, Matt? I think we’ll soon add Phelps and Warren too!

These kind of injuries can’t always be seen. No one could see Hughes’s physical issues either. Nova is an exception, there have been issues with Hughes, and Joba, Brackman, Betances, and several others who are no longer with the organization.

Warren is struggling at AAA right now, he’s gonna have to turn things around before he gets the call. At most we will see Phelps and Warren for no more than a cup of coffee considering their ages and lack of experience.

Don’t forget Pineda’s velocity was down during ST, that should have been a sign right there that something may have been wrong.

Yanks are an organization that don’t have the slightest clue as to how to develop a pitcher. Not only have their pitchers become injury prone at the major league level, most of their top pitching prospects over the past few years been injury-prone as well, this is all on the organization itself.

Yankees dumb….have the knack for picking out sore armed pitchers and paying big bucks for the privelege……(really stupid)

Right now I’m NOT expecting to see this guy pitch this year. Thank God the Yankees have Andy warming up downstairs. A good friend of mine, who saw Pineda many times in Seattle, told me he felt the M’s coaching staff was ruining this guys arm
thru overuse. I’m beginning to see what he meant.
