Spring Game 33: Yankees vs. Mets

April 4, 2012, 12:05 p.m. ET, George M. Steinbrenner Field, Tampa, Fla.

It’s part two of the Subway Series — Spring Training edition — this afternoon as the Yankees and Mets face off at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The last time the Mets came across the state to Tampa, it was 1996 and this was a brand-new facility, then called Legends Field. ’96 was a year that worked out pretty well for the Yankees.

Here in 2012, we’re expecting to see Andy Pettitte pitch an inning in this afternoon’s game, likely the fifth. Freddy Garcia makes his final spring start, tuning up for the fifth game of the season in Baltimore. Here are the lineups:

METS (9-19-2)
Andres Torres DH
Daniel Murphy 2B
David Wright 3B
Ike Davis 1B
Jason Bay LF
Lucas Duda RF
Scott Hairston CF
Josh Thole C
Ruben Tejada SS

Pitching: Dillon Gee RHP (1-1, 3.92 ERA this spring)

YANKEES (16-11-3)
Derek Jeter SS
Curtis Granderson CF
Robinson Cano 2B
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Mark Teixeira 1B
Nick Swisher RF
Raul Ibanez DH
Russell Martin C
Brett Gardner LF

Pitching: Freddy Garcia (1-1, 2.92 ERA this spring)
