Dickerson clears waivers, outrighted to Triple-A

Chris Dickerson stretches during this morning's workout.

The Yankees have announced that outfielder Chris Dickerson cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Dickerson will remain in big league camp.

The Dickerson move clears a space on the 40-man roster, which figures to be open now for Eric Chavez to officially be added to the roster.

(Yes, it’s the worst kept secret in the Grapefruit League. Even though Chavez has been in camp for two days and has a locker in the clubhouse, that move hasn’t officially been announced by the team yet.)

That’s a surprise! I thought for sure Billy Beane would add him to his collection of outfielders in Oakland.
