Cory Wade, Yankees agree on contract

The Yankees have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with right-handed reliever Cory Wade.

Wade, 28, will earn $508,925 if he spends the entire season in the Majors.

He was 6-1 with a 2.04 ERA in 40 appearances spanning 39 2/3 innings for New York last year after signing a Minor League contract on June 13. Wade began the season in the Tampa Bay Rays organization and, with New York, held opponents to a .221 batting average while retiring 32 of 40 first batters faced, and preventing 20 of 25 inherited runners from scoring.
