AT A GLANCE: The Yankees will play their final regular season game tonight at Tampa Bay…are concluding the season by playing 33 games over the final 32 days of the season from 8/28-9/28, playing on 30 of those days (have gone 19-13 thus far).

Are looking to avoid getting swept in a series of more than one game for just the third time in 2011 (also 5/13-15 and 6/7-9 vs. Boston), and just the second time ever by Tampa Bay (also 9/26-28/00 at Tropicana Field)…have not been swept in a multi-game series on the road since 9/10-12/10 at Texas.

THREE AND OUT: The Yankees are the only Major League team that has not lost more than three straight road games this season.

WRAPPING IT UP: The Yankees went 6-4 in the season’s final game over the last 10 years (2001-10), losing four of the last six such contests…have not ended a season on a losing streak of at least four games since 2000 (lost final seven contests).

LEAN LEFT: The Yankees are 35-16 (.686) vs. left-handed starters this season…have won seven of their last 10 and 21 of their last 29 games against lefty starters…are batting .282 (453-for-1,609) vs. LHP this season, fractionally the second-highest in the Majors behind Texas…have hit a Major League-most 67HR off LHP.

Let’s go YANKEES!

No score after one in Baltimore.

Gameday had three strikes.

After one in Atlanta: Phillies 1 Braves 1.

After two no score in Baltimore.

Betances looked good that first inning, I like watching these young kids pitch…I was watching his secondary pitches, a few nice change ups and 2 strike outs on curves…worked out of trouble…I like that also, so far so good..we will see….control is what we are looking for and getting those jitters out of the way..

After two in Atlanta: Phillies 1 Braves 1.

I’m on the Boston game tonight and honestly there’s not anyone in the Boston dugout who don’t look as if they’re feeling the pressure – they’ve just went 1-0 up through Pedroia’s single. It’s rare you’ll find me (outside Yankee games) want Lester to get bashed up but i’d rather see Tampa Bay go into October than Boston!

A Tex message!

I love the kids too, Bill.

Red Sox nation just heaved a sigh of relief lead by Big Papi!

I have many Boston fans I count as friends, so I’m for the Sox! Besides I’ve never forgiven the Rays Elliot Johnson for breaking Cervelli’s wrist in the Spring of 2008!

And Madden never said he was sorry!

Kinda quiet in Tampa Bay!

After three in Atlanta: Phillies 1 Braves 3.

believe it or not my best friend for the limited baseball he actually knows was a Red Sox fan (although i doubt that’s still the case now – his football allegience is Man United, who notoriously hate Liverpool, John Henry’s plaything) – but i can’t bring myself to root for Boston! Problem is they’ve dug a hole for themselves and well, it’s just went a few inches deeper thanks to JJ Hardy!

Hardy homers for the Orioles!

I think Bill has Sox fan friends too, including a son-in-law!

After three in Baltimore: Red Sox 1 Orioles 2.

Let’s go Brandon!

Cardinals have three on the board in the first!

Hey, atleast Betances finishes the season with an ERA in single digits!

tied up on a balk in Baltimore

Sox tie on a balk!

Scutaro looks like he’s just won the lottery, all his Christmases just came in and the whole lot was delivered by Megan Fox wearing nothin but a bow & a smile – he can’t believe that worked!

After four in Atlanta: Phillies 1 Braves 3.

After four in Detroit: Indians 3 Tigers 1.

Allan, I’ll leave the Sox updates to you!

After one in Houston: Cardinals 5 Astros 0.

The Tex’s two step again!

After five in Detroit: Indians 3 Tigers 1.

Laffey found the biggest part of the park!

Tigers tie in the sixth!

Tex wants 40 bombs..might have 2 more shots here…like to see him get it..when when the last time yanks had 2 40+ homer guys?…Mantle and Maris?

After two in Houston: Cardinals 5 Astros 0.

There’s that Jones kid!

After six in Detroit: Indians 3 Tigers 3.

After three in Houston: Cardinals 6 Astros 0.

Phil…94 and 95 mph…hardest I seen him all year, curve was snapping also…hmmm

RGK…I like andruw as a 4th outfielder…I did read where he has had a slight tear in his knee he has been dealing with all year…but hes done a good job, real good in the 2nd half…

Detroit moves ahead!

At the end of seven: Indians 3 Tigers 4.

Indians tie.

I agree Bill. I thought he was a quality pick-up this year because he wouldn’t hurt us in the field like Marcus Thames.

Detroit back ahead!

Atlanta goes to the ninth up 3-2.

After six in Houston: Cardinals 7 Astros 0.

Martin pitching the 8th and arod the 9th…lol

Laird can pick it down at third, can’t he, made some nice plays the last few games..

Phillies tie!

Final in Detroit: Indians 4 Tigers 5.

Phillies @ Braves goes to extras!

After eight at Houston: Cardinals 7 Astros 0.

All of the Sox are crapping their pants!

Final in Houston: Cardinals 8 Astros 0. The Braves must win to get a playoff!

You should hear these Rays announcers…you might think the Yanks had their A players in right now, nice comeback and they may even win it, but Girardi really don’t care even left Ayala in and took every starter out but Cano…Not once in this series have the Rays announcers said anything about the Yanks resting their starters…They are comical…Got to give the Rays credit for fighting back but the announcers are really poor…

I think the Rays may win it in the 9th actually…

Going to the bottom of the ninth, Texas 3 LAA 1.

Verlander vs Sabathia Friday!

Final in Anaheim: Rangers 3 Angels 1.

Gameday says strike three!

Phillies go ahead!

Braves are eliminated!

It’ll be all red in Philadelphia!

Orioles score!

Orioles win!

Crawford blew it!

Shit! No baseball tomorrow!!!

Shucks! No baseball tomorrow!!!

That’s all folks!

See ya Allan and Bill!

Note to Joe Girardi: LEAVE SCOTT PROCTOR OFF THE POSTSEASON ROSTER,

Note to Brian Cashman: DO NOT RESIGN PROCTOR, HE’S DONE. YOU SHOULD HAVE LEARNED THIS LESSON FROM JAVY.

Biggest choke of the year. Hard to believe up 7-0 inthe 8th the Yankees could lose the game whoever they had on the field. It was shocking. They handed the wild card to the Rays. I think the Rays have it to go all the way and we might wish that we hadn’t let them sweep this series. Poor managing by Joe tonight I thought. Used his whole bull pen in the game and as the announcer said got “cute” in having AJ pitch one inning and using all his pitchers so he had nothing left but Proctor at the end. Hopefully this series won’t carry into the playoffs.
