A-Rod out 3-4 days, Swisher’s MRI shows inflammation
Alex Rodriguez’s thumb issue is continuing to bother him and the Yankees will sit him for 3-4 days on the recommendation of the training staff.
“It’s healing. It’s better than it was whenever I sat out for it,” Rodriguez said. “I feel like there’s a difference between being hurt and playing through bumps and bruises. I’m not concerned playing through bumps and bruises, but even with bumps and bruises, I could do serious damage [at the plate]. With the way I am right now, I don’t think that’s possible.”
Nick Swisher’s MRI showed mild tendinitis, Joe Girardi said. He’ll get looked at again tomorrow but could be back in the lineup on Monday.
