Astros claim Lance Pendleton
The Houston Astros have claimed right-hander Lance Pendleton off waivers from the Yankees. Pendleton will join the team tomorrow.
Pendleton was designated for assignment this week when the Yankees wanted to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for right-hander George Kontos.
It’s a homecoming of sorts for the Houston product, and a second chance with the Astros; he was with them this spring as a Rule 5 pick before being returned to the Yankees.
