Bases loaded early in the game with on out you have to get 1 or 2 runs. Getting RISP home is often what kills the Yankees. You’ve got to take advantage of opportunities early or pitchers start to get locked in and difficult to hit.

Hey, Robert G. and Bill et al: Knocked Blackburn out early which is good. Now Yankees have to get to Twins’ relievers. Need to give Nova some run support. Need to win this series, like we need to win every series down the stretch. Hopefully ARod will get back in form quickly.

Another bases loaded situation for the Yankees. They’ve got to get these guys on base home. Too many opportunities lost. Chance for ARod to do something first game back.
Looks like Arod is pretty rusty. Mind you noone else is doing anything either. Making the Twins relievers look like Cy Young candidates.
Mark my word, these lost opportunites with bases loaded is going to come back to bite the Yankees in the #ss. It always does.

Knocked the starter out early but it doesn’t seem to have worked to theYankees advantage. Three pitchers and only 2 hits. The Yankees have got to start getting a few hits and when they get on base someone needs to knock them in or this could be a long and painful day.

Boston winning and so are the Rays. The Rays are playing well and only 7 behind. Can’t write them off. Yankees have got to win every series down the stretch and sweep a few to stay ahead of the Sox and keep the Rays safely back. This is a very poor showing for the Yankees offensively today. ARod certainly hasn’t shone in his debut. Nova is pitching well but no run support.
nova walks Kubel on 4 pitches? Then has to pitch to Thome with 2 on and Thome could knock it out of the park. A 1 run lead is very precarious. That could vanish in a hurry. WE’ve got to get more runs on the board.
How many times can Nova spin his magic? Flirting with danger.
Hey RobertG. Got to tell you Nova battles through things and keeps on pitching. Unlike some other HEADCASE on this pitching staff.
Derek Jeter grounds out more than anyone I know. Where has the offense gone? 4 pitchers and still only 4 hits.

Gotcha Seek. I like Nova. He’s the real deal. Rotation needs to be CC, Nova, Hughes, Colon and Garcia. That’s it. No more fooling around with AJ hoping he’s going to get it together. He’s not going to. WE have to eat the money and stick him in the pen for an inning or two as needed. But will Cashman and Girardi have the#alls to make that move? Not likely unless the Steinbrennes get involved.

Back to Back Jacks, one inside and one outside. Totally agree with you robert G. Enough is enough, this guy has gotten more chances than his father figure Ed Whitson. Sick and tired of his act or lack thereof. Read in the NY papers that some of the Yankee vets are fed up with him. Like I posted many times he and his pies can hit the road, next year. I would NOT depend on him.

Why would Gardner swing on a 3-1 pitch with one on and a chance to get a walk and use his speed on base. Dumb decision I think.
Why did Girardi take Nova out? he could have done one more inning. He brings Robertson in and he gives up a hit to the first batter with the big hitters coming up.
Is Robertson going to give the game away here? Should have gone with Nova in he 8th and right to Mo in the 9th. Now it becomes a nail biter again in the final innings. And the big hitters are up.
what the heck is going on. We have a 3-0 lead in the 8th, bring in Robertson who has been great this year but has had one or two lapses and now the bases are loaded and Valencia up who has 2 hits tonight. Man, we know how to keep the other team in the game.
Guess what. Jeter grounds out again. Some nights he looks like he’s getting it going again and other nights it’s the same old Jeter we’ve seen too often this year.
Tex gets a home run and Nathan hits him with a pitch in the 9th. Accidental, of course. Could easily have resulted in an injury and time lost. Annoying when pitchers do that and get away with it.

Another save closer to Trevor. Way to go Mo. And Nova could be the Rookie of the Year in the AL. Only reason the Yankees did NOT sweep this series was because of a 2nd inning meltdown in yesterday’s game.
