Cervelli to begin rehab assignment

Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Class-A Tampa on Thursday, weather permitting, the team has announced.

Cervelli fractured his left foot with a foul ball in a Grapefruit League game on March 2. He had resumed catching in Extended Spring Training this week, and it seems likely that he will reclaim the backup catcher’s job from Gustavo Molina as soon as he proves he is healthy and ready.

No blog tonight to comment on. With bases loaded and 1 out the Yankees should have got more than 1 run. That will likely come back to bite them later. When a pitcher is having a bad start you need to get to him and capitalize because once he settles in he might become very hard to hit.
