Yankees schedule Jeter press conference
The focus is going to shift off-campus and down the highway from the Winter Meetings on Tuesday, as the Yankees officially announce Derek Jeter’s new three-year, $51 million deal in a press conference at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Fla.
There is a 2:30 p.m. ET press conference scheduled at the Yankees’ spring home. Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman will be among those representing the team brass.

Kudos to the Yankees and Derek Jeter for getting this contract done. He is as fine a Yankee as any who have ever worn the pinstripes. Even Red Sox fans immensely respect him. A credit to the game and to his family.
