Tim Britton here for Bryan Hoch. Fresh off a dramatic 4-3 win on Friday night, the Yankees will try to win two in a row for the first time in two weeks, and they have the right man on the mound in lefty CC Sabathia. Sabathia will try once again for his 20th win, and manager Joe Girardi didn’t think the potential to win 20 was weighing on Sabathia’s mind, given that he tossed eight three-hit innings in his last no-decision in Tampa.
Jeremy Guthrie gets the nod against a Yankees lineup that will be without Mark Teixeira (he’s trying to get that bruised thumb and broken toe healthy) but with Nick Swisher.
Here are Saturday’s lineups:
YANKEES (89-58)
Derek Jeter SS, Nick Swisher DH, Lance Berkman 1B, Alex Rodriguez 2B, Robinson Cano 2B, Jorge Posada C, Curtis Granderson CF, Brett Gardner LF, Colin Curtis RF
LHP CC Sabathia (19-6, 3.03 ERA)
ORIOLES (58-89)
Brian Roberts 2B, Robert Andino 3B, Nick Markakis RF, Ty Wigginton 1B, Jake Fox DH, Adam Jones CF, Nolan Reimold LF, Craig Tatum C, Cesar Izturis SS
RHP Jeremy Guthrie (10-13, 3.74 ERA)

It’s breakout night for the Yanks..
.”GO YANKEES!”
BREAKOUT GAME TONIGHT FOR THE YANKS>>>>>>>>>>>
“GO YANKEES!” 7:17p
fjr69–Appreciate your enthusiasm about tonight’s game but it’s still early and CC is not pitching very well. A three run lead is not very much with a club that can hit the ball and score some runs. Bull pen will have to shut down the Orioles and hopefully the Yankees can hold onto the lead. I wouldn’t call tonight a breakout other than the 2 run homer by Cano.
I don’t like Colin Curtis at the plate. He’s not ready for the big leagues. He’ll obviously be on the bench when Tex is back and Swisher back in the outfield. I think Golson might have been a better choice in the outfield and at the plate tonight over Curtis.
Not exactly a breakout but we have 7 runs, we haven’t had that many for a while. We can use more to put the game out of reach.. CC has had trouble all night but he’s kept them w/only 3. If we can hold them CC will finally get his 20th win. Congrats to CC…
“GO YANKEES!”
oneof5, I’m with you I can’t understand why Joe is playing Curtis.
He hasn’t been hitting at all, His call ti fame was his walk off win earlier this season.
“GO YANKEES!”
Don’t really like Kearns or Berkman at the plate. They don’t hit in critical situations to advance runners. They’re weak at the plate. Not good pickups in the off season. I’d rather see the Yankees play a couple of their younger guys instead however Curtis is a weak hitter at the plate. Not sure if Golson is an upgrade or not. Shortage of good power hitters in the minor leagues. The one hitter they had, Austin Jackson they traded away to Detroit for Granderson. Anyway, looks like CC will get his 20th tonight.
Gaudin is not even an option for the post season. He is hopeless in relief. He needs to sit on the bench until they can move him at the end of the season. Anothe bad pick up.
oneof5, Berkman Hasn’t hit well w/men on base but, he has about .450 avg since coming off the DL. If you remember the Yanks all appear to have a problem W/RISP… Now 11 runs A BREAKOUT???
Tampa 1st & 3rd 2 outs in the 9th Tie game 3-3 in 10th inn.
