8/23 – Yankees at Blue Jays
Good evening from the Rogers Centre here in Toronto, as the Yankees get set to open a three-game series with the Blue Jays.

BLUE JAYS (64-59)- AT A GLANCE: The Yankees will begin a three-game series at Toronto tinight, beginning a six-game, seven-day road trip which also features a three-game set at Chicago-AL this weekend…went 5-2 on their just-completed seven-game homestand, taking three of four games vs. Detroit and two of three vs. Seattle…following this road trip, return home for their longest homestand of the season (10 games in 10 days from 8/30-9/8)…this series finishes a stretch of playing games on 20 straight days from 8/6-25 (10-7 thus far)…also ends a stretch of 36G in 37 days from 7/20-8/25 (19-14 thus far)…are 26-9-5 in series in 2010, tied with Cincinnati for the most series wins in the Majors this season…are 21-15 since the All-Star break, and have won eight of their last 12 and 29 of their last 45 games.

- CC YOU AT THE TOP: LHP CC Sabathia earned his AL-leading 17th win of the season on Sunday vs. Seattle, matching Colorado’s Ubaldo Jimenez and St. Louis’ Adam Wainwright for the most wins in the Majors…marked his franchise-record 16th consecutive start of at least 6.0IP with three-or-fewer earned runs (prev. high was 15 straight such starts by Ron Guidry to start his 1978 Cy Young season)…has gone 13-2 with a 2.32 ERA (116.1IP, 30ER) over his last 16 starts since 6/3.
- NEW FACE: RHP Ivan Nova will make his first Major League start tonight at Toronto, becoming just the eighth different Yankee to make a start this season…matched the second-fewest starters used by an AL team this season behind only Tampa Bay (7).
- BIRTHDAY BOY: OF Brett Gardner will celebrate his 27th birthday tomorrow.
