I’m getting an uneasy feeling about this series. I think we’re going to be in second place after this series. The Rays have great pitching and power at the plate. They are playing with a lot of confidence right now. One bad pitch spoiled an otherwise great performance by Hughes tonight. I don’t think he expected a hitter like Matt Joyce to hit it out of the park. He threw him a high fast ball over the plate and hoped he’d get away with it. Well, the rest is history. I sensed after they went ahead 3-2 that would be it since there had been so few hits and runs. Man, A Rod is really stuck at 599 and pressing. He’s getting under the fast balls and popping them up or fouling them off. If he can get 600 then the team can get on with winning and A Rod can get on with his usual offence.
