After reading Feinsand’s blog in the Daily News, plus add to it another woeful Joba performance, Cashman NEEDS to get another middle reliever this week.

It used to be whoever was ahead after 5 innings of a rained out game would be declared the winner but I don’t think that’s the case any more, is it? Do they have to make up the game later starting at the inning they finished at? Hopefully with it being an afternoon game they have longer they can wait before officially cancelling the game. The weather forecast is saying a light rain is falling. I thought they played in a light rain but it might be heavier than what is forecasted.

That is correct the team leading after 5 innings would be declared the winner. I believe that is still the rule. Now the ruling for a rain out has always to my knowledge (the 40s) been If the game went 4 1/2 innings with the home team ahead and is rained out it is a win for the Home team. If they are trailing and go only 4 1/2 then rained out, the entire game would have to be replayed, with no records of the incomplete game in the books, they were lost forever. “GO YANKEES!”

way too many pitches for Hughes and only the 4th inning. I agree Seeknay, I don’t see him going beyond 5 and then we’re into a shaky bull pen, so this game is no sure thing by any means. They need this game to win the series. They should be able to win a series against a team lower in the standings even though the Royals have a pretty good team considering where they are in the standings. Certainly some power at the plate. We do need a starting pitcher since Andy is out for a month and even beyond Andy because you never know what start you’re going to get out of AJ and even Phil and Vasquez at times although Phil’s overall record is great so far. I think you’re right Seeknay about Hughes especially with them talking now about a limited pitch and start count for the rest of the year.

Nice start Phil!

Ever since that missed start Hughes has NOT been the same pitcher. WAY to many pitches up in the zone. Ankiel’shot was a BLAST. Hughes will be lucky to get thru five innings today. With Andy out the Yankees NEED starting pitching by the trade deadline.

Let’s go YANKEES!

REPEAT FROM PRIOR THREAD:
Hey everyone. I heard from BPark again last night. He is alive and well and sends his greetings along with the following:

?Re: No thanks on Haren?
?Forward to Seeknay and One5 and Aussie B and the other regular who’s name slips my mind (not matt). Fausto Carmona is a go, Dan Haren is a no. He is 7 and 8 on a good team. Carmona is cheap and dominated the rays. Promote Carmona on the board.?

PS: I agree with Carmona over Haren. Haren has logged too much time on the DL.
