Swisher vs. the 1975 World Series

Thumbnail image for sendswish.JPGThe Red Sox and Reds have joined forces to send their respective players to the All-Star Game, with ballots being stuffed for Kevin Youkilis and Joey Votto, in a remarkable show of teamwork from the two participants in the 1975 World Series.

Perhaps that’s why Swisher’s lead slipped overnight in the AL Final Vote, with Youkilis gaining the top spot.
So the Yankees are getting creative. The media relations department dispatched their interns to the streets outside NBC’s The Today Show again on Tuesday, waving their ‘Send Swish!’ placards for a national television audience.
Swisher is also opening himself up to numerous TV and radio interviews, and now the Yankees are sending GM Brian Cashman to the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club on Wednesday to stuff the ballot box with the kids there.
If Swisher falls shy of going to Anaheim, it won’t be for lack of trying. Now, believe it or not, he’s asking some powerful friends on Twitter for help too, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Donald Trump, Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa, LeBron James, Paul McCartney and Jennifer Lopez.
