Bob,
Sorry, my wife took me shopping! No, Michael Kay was talking about the Jays. I’m not sure if he said new coach and a new philosophy or just the later.

Like

Robert: You mentioned a new hitting coach? Are you talking about the Yankees?

Hard decision for me today. Do I save the whole game or just the third inning!

Bob,
The only guy threatened by Moseley is Gaudin and maybe Mitre!

Like

Bob,
All announcers are “homies.” And the Jays were not predicted to be contenders. They have likely run out of surprises, but, I understand you may be brainwashed by the local (to you) media!

First game for Moseley, but so far looking good. Better option than Park or Gaudin or Robertson? time will tell but the bull pen hasn’t been good this year for the Yankees and Aceves looks to be a ways off yet. do they need to trade for a good relief man with experience? They need some additional bench strength as well. Certainly Ty Wigginton has been a power hitter and good outfielder. In the twilight of his career but could still be a fine addition.

Easier to see Moseley’s movement on a MLB telecast.

BTW John Harper had a great article in the Daily News today about Mo needing some help.

Robert: We’re getting Buck Martinez up here as commentator(Jay’s commentator) not Kay so not getting the Kay upbeat, Yankee prejudiced commentary, so not as easy to keep postive. But with an 8 run lead easier to be positive. But not cocky yet. These guys can score runs in a hurry.

Like

Hope I don’t jinx him but maybe this guy Moseley could help the pen.

Way to go Gardner! Cudos to the guys who got on base before him. Unfortunate for MacDonald to lose the ball in the sun but we’ll take it. Need to keep the Jays bats cool in the final innings. No big inning off our bull pen. Jays capable of some power and runs. Critical who Girardi replaces Pettitte with. Let’s hope the offence continues for next game and up to the all star break and beyond. It’s been pretty weak lately.

Hmmm. When I last checked there were four Jays with doubled home run rates this year. Michael Kay mentioned a new hitting coach and consentration on driving the ball on the Yanks visit to Toronto.

It?s hard to be negative listening to Michael Kay!

Bob,
By the way, all I could find is the 2009 strike out rate was one every 5.58 Abs. For 2010 so far the number is one every 5.33 AB.

Robert: My nerves won’t take sitting and watching a game hitter by hitter, pitch by pitch especially when at this point i don’t have a lot of confidence in the yankees pitching or hitting. That may sound negative but that’s where I am right now especially playing a team like the Jays. The Yankees are really struggling against the best teams. They can beat up on the lesser teams but struggle to win series or sweep series against the better teams.

I had the perfect write up for the game yesterday because I thought the Yankees were going to win. In the write up, I put.. “Gardner DONKEY konged the Blue Jays!” because he climbed the wall and saved a home run. Then the Yankees lost and I couldn’t use it.

My father was just over and he said no one knows what Donkey Kong is.

Granderson certainly doesn’t fill the shoes offensively left by Matsui and Damon. He has never been able to hit left handed pitchers. The Yankees thought that Long could help him to hit better against lefties. I don’t see it happening so far. he’s got to contribute more at the plate. He’s a good center fielder but is lacking at the plate. With a batting average of .232 he and Tex are competing for the lowest batting average on the team.

What’s it going to take to get Texiera going? Man with all the money he’s making he’s had a slow April, a slow May and a slow June. And management and many Yankee fans keep making excuses for him and waiting for him to get hot. Well it’s about freakin’ time he started hitting. This is ridiculous. And Girardi keeps batting him 3rd in the lineup. Don’t damage his ego. He’s making too much money. He’s got to start hitting soon and on and on the excuses go for leaving him where he is. How long will we have to put up with the excuses and the slow start until management makes a move and bumps him into the 5th hole and see if that will jolt him into getting the bat on the ball.

Bob,
Lately is an understatement!

The Jays starters are no piece of cake. This guy Romero is a good pitcher and the yankees are going to have to work hard to get any runs off of him. Jeter is going to have to step up his game. He’s been awful offensively and with RISP lately.

Looks like we’ve got a home plate umpire today who has a very narrow strike zone and Pettitte not getting calls that he should be getting.

If Pettitte keeps falling behind hitters and then having to pitch a fat one across the plate to get a strike then he’s going to be in trouble today. Already 2-0 in the 1st inning and with the way the Yankees have been swinging the bat they may not need many runs. Yankees used to be lights out in their own ball park. What’s going on lately?

The Yankees bats are going to have to get hot today. They’ve been cold for too long. And Andy has to pitch his usual great game and Girardi has to make some wise decisions regarding his bull pen. This is a must game if we’re going to stay ahead of the surging Red Sox and the Rays who are hot on our heels.
