6/26 – Yankees at Dodgers

IMG_0364[1].jpgHello once again from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, as the Yankees and Dodgers will play the second game of their three-game Interleague series today at 7:10 p.m. ET. The Yankees were 2-1 winners last night behind eight strong innings from CC Sabathia and another promising power swing from Alex Rodriguez.

Yesterday had all the Joe Torre drama, and I can report a lot of that has burned off in Day 2. We’re back to baseball now, and more specifically on the Yankees’ side, the big question is if A.J. Burnett can return to form. The Yankees think he might have been tipping his pitches in previous starts, and if that was the case, it would sure explain a lot.

This game was over when Girardi let AJ go to the mound in the first inning.

And I see we have a Jeff Weaver sighting at this game. And he performed just like his reincarnated buddy, AJ Burnett. Unreal!

Sounds like the Arizona series oneof5. Hmmmm and who put in a less than great performance in Phoenix. Oh A Jerk that’s right. Well at least he can’t blame Jorge for this one.

As I predicted it’s turning into a rout. Well good night everyone. Let’s hope Andy can get a win tomorrow night to at least win the series. could have been, should have been a sweep except for this debacle tonight.

The Yankees pen again not getting the job done but because AJ did such a lousy job to start and had to be pulled out early then it puts a huge burden on what is a fairly inconsistent and unreliable bull pen. Girardi leaves Park in too long. Maybe he’s given up on this game.

Two on base and Swisher swings at everything out of the strike zone I presume to try to hit a home run instead of getting a walk or just a hit and get on base for the next hitter. Not a good piece of hitting with men on base, but when you get 3 runs behind you get desperate and the big hitters are trying to catch up with one swing of the bat.

I am with you oneof5. The guy is 33 and a veteran, not 20 and a rookie.

Line on A Jerk today; 3 innings pitched, 79 pitches, 6 hits, 6 walks, 6 earned runs. Really earned your paycheck today Burnett. Thought he was interesting the way Yankee fans booed Burnett coming off the mound. Again I say the reincarnation of Jeff Weaver even with the gold necklace.

Where’s Robert tonight? Robert, I hope you’re not going to rationalize and excuse this performance by AJ tonight and the poor starts he has had given the big dollars the Yankees are paying him. He’s just not getting it done and whatever the problem is he needs to be pulled out and worked on by someone to get things straightened out. Does Eiland being on personal leave have anything to do with his poor performance? he’s a professional and experienced so he shouldn’t need the pitching coach to get into his head and find out why he’s underperforming.

This game is done. You can tell by the way the Dodgers are swinging the bats. They’ve got a swagger on and the yankees are on their heels, all due to a poor start by Burnett. And then Logan comes on and gives up key hits. Way too many walks. It just feels like the Yankees haven’t got it tonight and it goes back to the starting pitching. They don’t look like a first place team tonight. Are we going to hear more excuses from AJ and from Girardi about his poor showing? The fans are tired of them and of AJ and Girardi has to seriously consider taking him out of the rotation. This game is goint to turn into a rout before it’s over.

oneof5 it is between his ears. He’s always been a headcase, just like Weaver. All the tools and NO idea of how to pitch. They got rid of Weaver now they need to part ways with this guy.

Another DISGRACEFUL performance by A Jerk. The way he walked off the mound reminded me of Jeff Weaver. Girardi it’s time you make the tough decision with this guy. He’s killing this team and its pen. Enough!

Finally, Girardi pulls him out. Man, someone has to figure out what’s going on with Burnett. I think he needs to come out of the rotation until they get his mechanics and head together and get his game back. They can’t keep putting him into the rotation the way he’s been pitching for the last month. It’s almost a sure loss every time. The yankees need to score 12 runs when Burnett is pitching to win.

Still say trade him to the Cubs for Zambrano. Girardi and Eiland might turn that idiots career around. Just stop putting him out there every 5th day for God’s sake.

72 pitches in 3 innings, half of them balls. This guy is a loss every 5 days. Instead of sitting down Hughes, sit this piece of CRAP.

Rays won and Jays and Sox are ahead of the Giants. So Yankees need to win this to stay 3 games ahead. I hope Aceves can get healthy soon. I think he should replace Burnett in the rotation and put Burnett in the pen and only pitch him when the Yankees have a healthy lead until he can learn how to pitch again.

He is a 33 year old HEADCASE oneof5. Another Jeff Weaver, has all the tools but NOTHING between the ears. Glad CC won last nite and they have Andy going tomorrow. They NEED to put A Jerk in the pen or trade him by the end of July. Send his *SS to the Cubbies.

Can you believe this? 5-4 after being up 4-2. A disastrous inning. Only the double play keeps the inning at all within reach. Does Girardi let him come out for another inning? I hope not. They’re killing his fast ball and always have. It’s not the speed of it, it’s location.

Trade his sorry *** to the Cubs for Zambrano. Then put Gaudin the in 5th slot and Zambrano in the pen. ANYTHING is better then A JERK!!!

Bustnett loads the bases with none out. Man, he needs to come out right now. In fact based on his performance over the past month he shouldn’t be starting. He either sits on the bench or joins the pen until he can get on track if he can ever do that again. He can’t locate pitches. He’s all over the place. He can’t pitch out of tough situations. All round, he just doesn’t have it any more, if he ever did. There’s got to be someone else in the system they can replace him with. But they’re paying him such a big salary they are not willing to send him down or trade him. Noone wants him with the way he’s been pitching and his salary. After every bad game he says, “Well I’ll do better next time”. Well next time he doesn’t do any better. How long does management put up with this guy? How many games does he have to lose? How many times does he have to have a terrible outing? Nobody out and now 4-4. He has no confidence any more and he can’t pitch and he won’t admit it. He keeps trying to make excuses. Girardi, get him out of there before there’s any more damage.

Burnett is the reincarnation of Jeff Weaver.

Better plan on scoring 13 runs today with this guy on the mound. $16.5 million for this guy, right now an unwise investment.

3-0 lead now 3-2. Tell me A Jerk who you going to blame now? Cervelli is behind the disc and you still STINK. Waste of $$$ and time with A Jerk Bustnett.
