May we continue?

That wraps up the month of May for the Yankees, and it was a batch of mixed results. Finishing 16-13 but weathering a storm of injuries, the Bombers head into their next month of play having won five of seven and finished on a high note with a season-high 18 hits in their 11-2 drubbing of the Indians.

“Obviously you would have loved to have a better record in the month of May,” Joe Girardi said. “But our guys [played] 29 games in 31 days, had some split doubleheaders, suspended games – we went through a lot. We went through some injuries and I thought our guys kept going at it. I’m proud of them for that.”
