- By the way, if you’re wondering how the Yankees clubhouse reacted yesterday to A’s pitcher Dallas Braden running his mouth again, Bob Klapisch did a nice job investigating. Highlight of the story – CC Sabathia calling Braden “a clown.” The A’s have also told Braden to give it up, the Bergen Record story states.
- If you were thinking that Josh Beckett’s actions Friday deserved some payback, it would appear that Sabathia was right there with you. With two outs and nobody on in the third, Sabathia fired one at Dustin Pedroia’s rear end – quick and simple evening of the score. However, the move backfired as Victor Martinez belted a two-run homer over the Green Monster to give the Red Sox a 3-2 lead.

I’m not entirely sure but it appears that the FOX announcers are anti Yankee, I think Josh Beckett’ hit Jeter intentionally, Yes, even w/fob he was pissed at himself for letting the game get out of hand. No, not Cano he was just being brushed back. CC should Have known better than hitting Pedroia, If he did it intentionally it should have been Lowell, with no big bats coming after him. Instead it cost him.. “GO YANKEES!”

Joba in, Robertson gone, When do they send him down?? He gets into trouble in every game he’s pitched this year.. We don’t want them to get back in the game. Come on Joba you can do it! I’m going to go out on a limb here and say the Yankees won this game.
Even Mike Napoli stole during the Angels series at Fenway.
Looks like Tex is finally heating up. ARod is hitting and getting on base as well. And we’re getting hitting from other guys in the lineup like CAno and Swisher and even Cervelli and Gardner. Injuries are hurting us at this point. Hopefully Posada will be ready for the next game. Concern about Petitte. Anyway, the Yankees are doing it in this series against the Sox in spite of the injuries. Sox
are not the team they were in the past few years. The team to contend with this year seems to be the Rays. They’re a hot club right now.

Looks like the the decision to bring in Johnson was the wrong one as many people said it would be with his history of injuries. May need to spread the DH around with Thames and giving other guys a night off in the field, unless they can trade for someone that can fill the slot. Cashman is getting some heat for signing Johnson as well as Vasquez. Both are former Yankees who didn’t do well first time around and should not have been brought back. Never a good move to bring a player back again after he’s been away for some time, especially having been playing in the NL. They can’t readjust to the AL or to the spotlight of New York. One year success for Vasquez was not enough to take a chance on him and spend the money they did to get him.

Don’t tell me Girardi brought Robertson in again in relief. He really isn’t doing it. He’s got only a fast ball that works and even with the fast ball he can’t locate and the opposition can tee off on his pitches. He needs to go down to the minors and get some work. How long is Girardi going to give Robertson time to correct his problem, whether mechanical or mental, before he pulls the plus on him?Even with a 5 run lead it can disappear in a hurry. And the Rays lost tonight so the Yankees have a chance to gain ground on them. Not a good decision. They’ve got to have someone else in the bull pen they can put in besides Robertson.

Girardi did the right thing. The Yanks need Robertson to right himself and recover the 7th inning/fireman role. Girardi also did the right thing by keeping him on a short leash.

Francisco is doing the things we had come to expect from Jorge but weren’t getting. Jorge when coming up w/men on base I figure a K or a DP. He’s terrible in the clutch.. Frankie already has 12 RBIs. And he’s also very good defensively….
