Coming at you from Disney’s Wide World of Sports on what figures to be a long doubleheader day of baseball for the Yankees, who will be pitching CC Sabathia in the day game here against the Braves and Sergio Mitre tonight under the lights at George M. Steinbrenner Field against the Blue Jays.

  • Joe Girardi says there’s a “good chance” switch-pitcher Pat Venditte will get into today’s game … You’ll notice the Yankees weren’t granted a DH for today. CC Sabathia has been told not to swing. “He’ll get his chances – just not today,” Girardi said. … Mark Teixeira texted with the manager and said he’s heading in for treatment today … There’s no update to speak of on Alfredo Aceves’ back, but Girardi acknowledged if he doesn’t pitch again in the next few days, they’d have to think about putting him on the disabled list.
