Team up with Bernie and Girardi for charity

Just a public service announcement for those of you in the New York area:

Yankees manager Joe Girardi is teaming up with Bernie Williams on Saturday for the eighth annual Hillside Food Outreach Neighbors Helping Neighbors Benefit Dinner and Auction, to be held at the Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle, N.Y.

The Hillside Food Outreach serves over 700 families in Westchester and Putnam Counties who literally are unable to put food on the table. Hillside Food Outreach is a grassroots not-for-profit food pantry established to help those who in need of food assistance, but were unable to access local food pantries.

This benefit Bernie puts on each year is by far their biggest fundraiser of the year and goes a long way to keeping them able to help families. The event will be hosted by WFAN Yankees beat reporter Sweeny Murti, and there is a cocktail hour with open bar, gourmet dinner, and a musical performance by Bernie and his band.

In fact, the guitar Bernie plays at the dinner will be then be auctioned off as part of a great lineup of silent and live auction items.

Tickets can be bought at hillsidefoodoutreach.org. For more information, call (914) 747-0095.
