Yankees finalize ALDS roster

The Yankees have reversed course and decided to take an 11-man pitching staff for the American League Division Series. As Joe Girardi said on Tuesday, it seemed 23 of the 25 spots were set, and the Yankees have filled in the missing questions by taking right-hander Chad Gaudin and left-hander Damaso Marte along for the first round.

Here is the breakdown of the roster, which thus carries 14 position players:

Pitchers (11): Alfredo Aceves, A.J. Burnett, Joba Chamberlain, Phil Coke, Chad Gaudin, Phil Hughes, Damaso Marte, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, David Robertson, CC Sabathia

Catchers (3): Francisco Cervelli, Jose Molina, Jorge Posada

Infielders (6): Robinson Cano, Jerry Hairston, Jr., Eric Hinske, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira

Outfielders (5):
Melky Cabrera, Johnny Damon, Brett Gardner, Hideki Matsui, Nick Swisher

Not on ALDS roster: Jonathan Albaladejo, Brian Bruney, Mike Dunn, Ian Kennedy, Mark Melancon, Sergio Mitre, Edwar Ramirez, Josh Towers, Juan Miranda, Shelley Duncan, Freddy Guzman.
