9/12 – Yankees vs. Orioles

The afterglow of Derek Jeter’s hits record was still heavy this morning at Yankee Stadium, where players drifted in late and Joe Girardi spent most of his pregame session discussing No. 2. The fans gave Jeter a rousing standing ovation upon his first at-bat and Jeter, naturally, responded with the 2,724th hit, 301st stolen base and 1,565th run scored of his career.

One bit of pregame news: Girardi said that Damon’s back felt much better and that he would be available to pinch-hit Saturday if needed. Damon could be back in the starting lineup as soon as Sunday.

That should read CC just doesn’t have his best stuff, (0) Ks in 6 innings. We now have a 5-3 lead in the top of the 8th with Hughes in. We’ve got to hold them.

CC just have his best stuff, (0) Ks in 6 innings, But he is still holding his own. He’s not getting too much offensive help thus far. We need to give him a cushion to work on. Jeter is doing his part but those behind him are not. “GO YANKEES!”

Is that AJ out there again, Oh no, It’s the other initials guy CC. It was hard to tell the difference for a while. What’s going on with our pitchers lately, no consistency. This is the time of year they should be priming up for the post season. Arod has finally started to hit, yes it’s not the long ball but he is getting the job done and driving in runs. Now Tex has to awaken and start to hit the way we know he can. “GO YANKEES!”

The Yankees need either Joba or AJ to get up to speed before the playoffs. Switch to a 3 man rotation there. We can’t afford 2 inconsistent starters, and if Joba or AJ can pitch well for an inning (only for these playoffs, I am not for a Joba to the ‘ pen move) then the Yanks need just 5 innings from their starter anyway. With the best record in the AL should the Bombers hold on, the Yanks will have the choice to have a 3 man rotation on normal rest for the ALDS. After that, well, pitch them on short rest where needs be.

Guys, this is typical AJ, check his career record, he’s never been much more than a .500 pitcher. Couldn’t believe you guys paid him so much; and I wouldn’t expect much from him in the playoffs either.

AJ really sucks. I never really thought that AJ was worth the money they paid. I think they were impressed with his record against the Red Sox, but we only play them 18 times a year. What about the other 144 games? AJ better forget the shaving cream pies and concentrate on getting batters out. If he and Chamberlain continue to pitch like they have of late, then I don’t think either one of them deserves a playoff start. In fact, if they keep pitching like this, they don’t deserve to start at all.

And, can anybody tell me why the Yanks have so much trouble against young guys that they haven’t seen before? Other teams seem to eat all the young guys the Yanks throw. Most times they destroy the guys. If that’s the way these Yankee hitters have played their whole life, none of these guys would have made it out of the minors, or even into the minors. Evidently, they need to “know” what the guy is going to throw them before they can hit it. Can’t they just forget about predicting and hit what the the guy throws? I thought that they were professional hitters.

I want to know what’s been going on with AJ lately. He has been so inconsistent lately, it’s been painful to watch him pitch lately. The Orioles are not a good team, yet they have made the Yankees look like scrubs the past 2 games so far. The Yankees need to start showing some life, or they’re gonna drop 2 in a row, to the… ORIOLES…… This offense needs to wake up and start rocking the young pitchers. Other than Arod’s homer last night, the offense has sputtered vs 2 young pitchers, and I just can’t figure out why.

What’s in h*** is going on with AJ, He’s pitching like pure trash. 6 runs already, Joe threw away the game last night and unless we make a great recovery this will be 2 in a row..Will AJ settle down, We can’t afford to give up any more runs..
“GO YANKEES!”
