Congratulations to Jeter.

And yes, a7989, may The Iron Horse never be forgotten.

A great moment for Jeter and Gehrig. The Iron Horse sets the franchise hit record, and 70 years later it is broken by a fellow captain and Hall of Famer. Consider that Gehrig was still 35 when he was forced to retire. I always think that when someone breaks a record, especially a great one, we should look back and honour the previous record holder.

Maybe regressed is not the right word, But you must admit he’s inconsistent. You don’t have any idea of which Joba will show up. And to be sure the whole Joba rules has been confusing to everyone including Joba. As said, much of the blame goes to Joe and Eiland.. Joba has to have a game plan, All starters study the batters tendencies and plan to work against their strengths and work to their weakness. Of course it doesn’t always work the way planned. “GO YANKEES!”

Congrats to Derek! Now break his record!

And as for Joba, he should just pitch like any other starter pitchers…its time to stop this whole Joba Rules nonsense. If the Yanks want Joba to improve, then they should let him pitch freely, no limit restrictions, no inning restrictions! If Joba ever fails, then we’ll know who to blame…

The Yankees are treating this kid like he’s weak. 3 inning starts—–it is a joke. I coach high school ball and if I’ve got a kid who has thrown all season and has no injury, he can always go 75 pitches. The Yankees only had to watch this kid to make sure he stayed 100 or less. No 120 counts. The kid won’t learn to pitch throwing spring training like games. Come on give him a chance for a W and he’ll compete. This time, Girardi, Eiland, and Cashman have really gone off the deep end.

Yes you are right ol hickory on all counts. Joba has mowed down 8 straight and appears to be in a grove. Regardless of what happens tonite LEAVE HIM IN and screw these rules. Congrats to the Captain on that bunt single in the 1st. What I like about Jeter is that he’s in a slight slump and pressing so what does he do? Lay down a bunt, basic fundamental baseball player and 1st ballot H of F.

Joba has appeared to be settling down, I surely hope so, we need him ready to pitch in the playoffs. “GO YANKEES!”

Seeknay, You and I are on the same wavelength, Joba has not improved at all. He’s inconsistent with no game plan. Right now he’s a thrower not a pitcher, This whole Joba rules stink. The pitching coach is not doing his job. Joba appears to be headstrong and is not a good listener.. He doing it his way!
“GO YANKEES!”

Chamberlain is doing his usual under these new rules. This guy has regressed this year and is slowly proving he belongs in the pen.

Yes, indeed it is good to be a Yankee fan right now. This team never quits and we seem to have a different hero every game. Kudos to Swisher for his two HR’s. Wow. He is right up there with ARod, Damon, Tex, Posada, Cano and Matsui.

At any given time anyone from 1 -9 can come up with a key hit. Love this team..

Good luck to Joba today.

(Sorry, meant to say Hughes gave up the Jason Bartlett HR.)

Just got back from The Bronx a little while ago…a great game!
A-Rod had two key defensive plays and drove in 1 of the 3 Yankee runs. The other 2 belong to the star of the night: Nick Swisher, with 2 of his 5 HRs at the Stadium. Oh, and yeah…another walk-off win!!!

Gaudin was VERY economical and impressive, despite his 7th inning derailment. I’m glad that the Longoria HR came off the always-killer Hughes and not Coke, Bruney, or Marte; otherwise one of those guys would’ve been crucified here. hahahahaha

Man, 90th win of the season; .750 ball since the All-Star break; and another walk-off!!! The magic number is now 15. Sure feels good to be a fan of the Pinstripes right now.
