8/27 – Yankees vs. Rangers

Here are the lineups for today’s game at Yankee Stadium as the Yankees try to take two of three from the Rangers. As expected, Jorge Posada (bruised left ring finger) is not in the lineup, but Alex Rodriguez (bruised left toe) is. The Yankees are already working on getting a pad ready for Posada’s finger so he can continue to play.

In other updates, Brett Gardner should hit off a tee today and soft-toss BP will soon follow. He could be ready for rehab Minor League games in five to seven days. Additionally, the Yankees are about to discuss their Sept. 1 callups. Expect to see catcher Francisco Cervelli among them.

Coke The Choke does it again. Send him back to Triple AAA and let’s make sure he is NOT on the roster come September. We DO NOT need him in the playoff’s.
Sox get Wagner and the Yankees get the shaft……

Yeah, Joe G can be quite confounding. Btw, just to be fair, Torre routinely made decisions that made me scratch my head in frustration. Then again, he had 4 rings and took the team to the post-season every year, while Girardi in his first full season only has a 3rd place finish to show for his efforts. But still…

Brad Penny is a PROVEN first-half pitcher. So, hopefully, just looking at the calendar will disuade the powers that be from acquiring him, if indeed that is the case. Rather than getting Penny I’d rather give Mitre a chance to find his post-Tommy John surgery bearings. Of course, the Yankees are in a playoff run and Mitre makes me nervous…

Maybe it´s about time that Cashman and Girardi design the “AJ Rule”, the “Phil Rule”, etc. Just read that the guys are thinking of signing Brad Penny because he might actually be a better choice than Sergio Mitre…

Seeknay51: Couldn´t agree with you more! Last time I heard, Aceves was the long reliever, and Coke wasn´t. Well, It is about time for Girardi to decide what he is going to do with Coke: long reliever, short reliever, lefty specialist, setup, even closer (he even has one save)….

RE: The quiet blog … I suspect that the login process scares away many of the commenters. We have a lot (I mean A LOT) of lurkers on this blog, but not many want to go through the trouble of actually signing up and signing in. Wish it wasn’t that way but that’s how the platform works.

Bryan: why the heck didn’t Girardi bring Aceves directly in to relieve AJ? In my opinion Aceves is a better option then either Coke or Robertson? Can’t understand the thinking by the manager here, you’re in the game down 3-2 and you bring in Coke? The down 7-2 in the 9th and you bring in Aceves? Seems like a wasted effort here by one of your more dependable relievers, Aceves.

Anyone doubts why Girardi has Marte on the roster consider Choke’s performance today. I hope this bum watched CJ Wilson’s performance in the bottom of the 7th to see how to pitch. You go after them and not backdown.

Again, a QUIET day on the blog. And poof, there goes the game. Nice job Coke.

Way to go Coke The Choke. He got what he deserved walking off the mound, BOOS. YOu ae paid to do a job and to say the least he continues to fail in that job. Why is Girardi so in love with this guy? Unless there is one *ELL of a comeback again the Yankees have lost 2 out of 3 to these guys. 2/3′s of an inning for Choke and the game is out of hand. Learn how to pitch you bum.

What’s with our pitchers, Get 2 outs, Then walk a couple. Then Suddenly finding the strike zone in the wheelhouse, BAM out of the park HOOMME RUUN. 3 runs in. Is this a special talent they have..
