Marte’s Triple-A tour ends
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman relayed Saturday that left-hander Damaso Marte has concluded his 30-day rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but has been excused for personal reasons that are not injury-related.
In other words, don’t expect to see him on a big league mound anytime soon. The Yankees never saw the consistency of Marte’s fastball, which touched 93 mph at times at Triple-A but also clocked in the mid-80s. Phil Coke will likely finish up the year as the Yankees’ only left-handed reliever.

Last year’s trade with the Pirates is starting to resemble one you’d like to forget about. Nady has been injured and Marte has been non-existing. Glad to see the Yankees won the first two games in this series. Concerned about Sergio tonight.
Marte was never worth the money I don’t know why we signed him again what was the point really? I agree with seeknay51 completely! Please Yankees don’t bring Marte back he wasn’t even good when he wasn’t injured.

Great job by Robertson in the bottom of the 6th.
Did we ever see a healthy Marte? There seems to be “reasonable doubt.” Next year will be soon enough to see if we have anything!
