Joba to start in Seattle after all

The Yankees have indeed shuffled the rotation, and Joba Chamberlain will start at Safeco Field against the Mariners on Sunday. Here is how the upcoming workload shakes out:

Tonight @ SEA: Andy Pettitte
Saturday @ SEA: Sergio Mitre
Sunday @ SEA: Joba Chamberlain

Monday @ OAK: A.J. Burnett
Tuesday @ OAK: CC Sabathia
Wednesday @ OAK: Chad Gaudin

Friday @ BOS: Andy Pettitte
Saturday @ BOS: A.J. Burnett
Sunday @ BOS: CC Sabathia

Tuesday vs. TEX: Joba Chamberlain

Meanwhile, Alex Rodriguez was in the Yankees’ original lineup but was scratched with back spasms. He said that the spasms started after being hit in the elbow with a pitch on Wednesday and that he still feels sore. Jerry Hairston, Jr. is in the lineup for a second straight game.

I’m happy with which pitchers are going to face Boston since AJ and CC have both been dominant lately and Andy has been great on the road! I just hope our momentum keeps going into Boston. And I also have to say I’m really impressed by Hairston my first thoughts were wrong about him and I’m happy about it!
