Yanks acquire Hirsh for pitching depth

It’s not the big pitching move some people are waiting for, but it’s something. The Yankees have picked up right-hander Jason Hirsh from the Rockies in exchange for a player to be named later and will assign him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Hirsh was 6-7 with a 6.66 ERA in 20 games (16 starts) at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Full stats here.

I think Yankees should trade for Washburn. He is pitching really good lately.

The Yanks are just fine where they are. If anything, we need to find a formula to beat Francona and Scoscia. Notice I didn’t mention the teams. These two managers have the Yankees number and we need to find a formula to counter their moves. Personnel is not an issue at this time, unless we find someone with out of this world numbers against those teams
