The Yanks are playing solid baseball. But until they start beating the Angels and Red Sox and Tampa. The jury is out. To me the only weakness that prevent them from these teams is the outfield defense. Take for instance, Baltimore outfielders turn a possible blow-out into a close game by preventing both Damon and Tex from possible doubles into singles by playing the balls off the walls perfect. Pitchers get by those moments and go on to pitch well. Outfielders must have the ability to bale a pitcher out sometimes because they will be hit. We need someone who can run those balls down in the power alleys. I am sorry they did not get Mike Cameron. He not a great hitter, but he like Torrie Hunter he can run those balls down that stay in the park. You can’t catch or cutoff every ball in the alleys, especially line drives, but to many times this year, especially againist the above name teams it has happen. Then bullpen gets a bad rap, your starters go six innings and we say Joe Giradi is an idiot or Brian Cashman is dumb.

40 yrs. after man walks on the moon, Matsui hits a moonshot to win it. That was a liftoff if I have ever seen one. Thanks to the Rangers south of me they are once again in a 1st place tie.

Another nail biter. These are the games that give you some character. Tough wins, Great pitchers battles.. Another WIN via The long ball.. All we could garner up was 4 hits, 2 of which were HRs.. A great game by Andy, his best this year, Too Bad No win for him. BP also did a very good job. Sox leading 2-1

Does baiting “Crashman *** kissers” demonstrate ” common sense?”

It does when the *sskissers never show any balls and post, but that’s to be expect considering how he has failed to do his job.

ol hickory Hinske keeps hitting the way he is hitting and he will not be on the pine much longer.

Andy got his HR a game pitch out of the way early.. That’s all for tonight.. Hinske ties it with another bomb, his 3rd since joining they Yanks, I can’t understand Joe was keeping him on the bench..
