Going for the sweep
The Yankees picked up an ineffective Joba Chamberlain and rallied Sunday to defeat the Blue Jays, 10-8. They’ll be back at it again this afternoon in the fourth consecutive day game of this series, looking for a sweep as Andy Pettitte and Ricky Romero lock it up.
Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera and Mark Teixeira were named American League All-Stars Sunday – Jeter and Rivera for the 10th times, Teixeira for the second time and first as a Yankee. After Sunday’s game, Teixeira said he would not participate in the Home Run Derby, citing his dismal two-homer performance in the ’05 contest.
