Mo memorable than we thought

It turns out Wednesday’s game had more to remember than just Mariano Rivera’s ninth-inning lineout to center field. Rivera also struck out all four batters he faced in the 8-4 win, marking his most-ever batters faced in an appearance when striking out each hitter.

He had gone 3-for-3 in striking out batters on 15 prior occasions, most recently on 6/19/08 vs. San Diego. It also marked just the fourth time since the start of the 1997 season he has struck out four-or-more hitters in a game (all four strikeouts: 7/9/08 vs. Tampa Bay; 5/20/06 at Mets; 8/19/99 vs. Kansas City).

Mo is a unanimous first ballot hall of Famer not question about it. His accomplishments in the field have no equal. In his 15th season he is only 2 shy of 500 saves while playing his entire career in the AL East. I only wonder how many more saves he would have if he played in the NL team like Hoffman, a team that would offer many more save opportunities than the Yanks. Well Kudos to Mo for his career and for the many more grateful moments yet to come. Yanks for 27-28-29-30-31. Yep in a row.

Now that we have a 1 game winning streak, shall we go for 2. We would like to have some momentum going into the series with the Mets… Give it your best tonight Andy!!
Does anyone know the AL vs the NL interleague records this season? It appears the NL has improved a bit…
