FROM THE CLUBHOUSE

Brian Bruney got some good news from Dr. James Andrews today down in Birmingham, Ala., as Andrews agreed with the initial diagnosis and said no structural damage was found in his right elbow ligament. The Yankees will map out a throwing program for Bruney within the next 24 hours.

Melky Cabrera is
heading back to New York for more tests with Dr. Chris Ahmad after having an MRI here today. The initial diagnosis from head trainer Gene Monahan
was a strained/bruised right shoulder that could put him down for five to seven days.
If that’s the case, the Yankees may not need to make a move — get this, Angel Berroa and Ramiro Pena are taking fly balls for such an emergency — but if it’s any longer, look for Cabrera to go on the disabled list and a real outfielder would come up from Triple-A.

number 15 for tex!

Andruw Jones? I’d completely forgot about him…just checked his numbers, he’s doing okay this year, not that he’ll hit 50+ HRs ever again but that’s a nice pickup for the Rangers. Melky sent back to NY? Dang, so Nady, Jorge get back and someone else goes down. And A-Rod’s tipping pitches…for Tex…thanks Salty.

Matsui HR, Swisher BB, Gardner bunt single, advancing on an error, 2-run single from Cash. Very good baseball. Winning baseball, top of the AL-East baseball (hopefully). Go Twins.

Now Damon runs into a wall

Can anyone tell me why VERAS is still on this team? Is someone being fooled by his 3-1 record?? I can’t understand it.. Let’s hope Robertson can do a better job, I don’t want to see us blow this one because our lousy bullpen..
“GO YANKEES!”

That is the best Master Wang has looked all year. The last two innings were a masterpiece. And they are now in 1st place. Who would have thunk it?

All around solid effort from the Yankees tonight. Burnett was dealing, I think he just needs to cut down on the walks a little bit, but other than that he’ll be fine. Tex sure has found his stroke since A-rod came back. I agree hickory, Veras has been garbage all season, how much longer will the staff watch him suck it up? Another solid outing from Wang, he’s dropped his ERA from 34.50 to 20.45 over his last 2 outings. Maybe he’s finally starting to remember how to pitch.

sper33 Master Wang looked great, challenged the hitters. On to Cleveland and let’s win there.

I take the Wang progress. Burnett still has a ways to go before he’s worth $82M. But after the start we had, I’ll take a share of the AL East lead. There have been some good swings at the ball of late. Interesting to see some more bunting, a hit and run. Cano’s still hitting well. Tex is finally starting to hit well. And we continue to somehow get production out of the bottom of our lineup. I’ll take all I can get.

I’m glad to see Mats seeing the ball better, It’s about time he’s come out of his funk. I hope this game helped him gain back some confidence. He’s been worthless w/RISP. With Jorge and Nagy on the way back and Mats starting to hit, We could be in 1st the rest of the way….
“GO YANKEES!”

Veras has got to go,maybe take Girardi with him. Chamberlain needs to become the set up guy with Bruney . These batters are killing him ,when they see him three or four times a game thet get used to him. Once or twice in relief makes him twice as effective and he will stay stronger. Aceves is the best prospect and along with Ramirez and Coke and Robertson will perform better and become very effective as the season progresses.

Bryan, can you tell me why the Red Sox draft higher than the Yanks in this years draft? I’ve been hearing all year how the Red Sox finished higher than the Yanks, yet they draft before us! Are the rules set in all aspects of baseball to punish the Yanks for having owners that care the most?
Their should be some sort of Supreme court we can go to with this get the Yankees attitude.
